I can confirm per a current JLC that reference checks do not necessarily indicate an imminent offer. OCIJ contacted the JLC's references in late November and JLC did not receive an offer until early January.
Thank you for the information. While the offer may not be imminent, does getting your references checked indicate that you will receive an offer at some point in time? Or does the JLC know if DOJ contacts references for a few alternates just to have someone lined up?

different poster here. You should ask Deanna but having your references checked doesn't necessarily mean you'll get an offer.

"EOIR advises that they are in the final stage of reference checks. Candidates should note that EOIR is very diligent about this and will not issue a candidate an offer until they are satisfied.
I was asked to inform EOIR candidates that they will no longer amend location preferences because they are in the final stages of trying to match candidates with Immigration Courts.
Best of luck to you and I hope this was helpful."
So just a quick question about this post from Deanna: so when she says "in the final stages of reference checks" does that mean for alternates too or no?

I am a finalist whose references have not been checked, so I might be an alternate for an alternate lol. What is the point of designating someone a finalist if they aren't even an alternate?

Yeah I'm in the same boat, but not sure exactly what that means, trying to figure it out.

As in, after the work day was over?
I think it was after their work day ended (though I can't speak for them). I needed a late call because I was facing a deadline to reply to an offer from another employer and had told them that.

Re: EOIR OCIJ - I spoke with one of my references this morning and she said that the e-mail questionnaire EOIR sent her wasn't due until today. Since it's a busy time of year I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of references wait until the deadline. Let's try not to sweat it too much yet.

That's good to know! I'm sure many references will wait until the deadline. It would be nice to know whether I'm getting an offer sooner rather than later though.

Does anyone know if, during this point in the process, they check with anyone beyond the three references provided? In particular do they check with supervisors from any former employment listed?

For those who have accepted an offer from EOIR, have you been contacted by the HR department to start the FBI background process?

At the interview, I was told that the offer was not contingent on passing the bar. If you fail, you try again.

Current JLC here. You have 14 months upon entry of duty to get admitted to the bar. In reality, it pretty much means that you have one extra try to pass/get admitted.

Current JLC here. Just an FYI that the background check process starts at different times for JLCs. Upon receiving a written offer (which I didn't get until February or so after my December offer) and sending in all relevant material, my real process didn't start until late July.

Does anyone have any insight on if all preliminary offers have been made? Or how long this will take?

Check the Community thread on Avue, and we are tracking it on the Google spreadsheet (linked on the first post of this thread).

It is down for me too. Maybe we all crashed it since it is Monday morning and we haven't heard anything yet! I am hoping we get some news soon.

I just logged into Avue and didn't see any new updates today, as of about 5 minutes ago.

Yeah, mine was down, but it came back up and no new updates here either. It was probably just a server glitch or something.

From the spreadsheet, it looks like two more people heard today. Congrats to them!

Indeed! It looks like one was New York; any word on the other location, lucky recipient?
I assumed there wouldn't be anything more until January since it looked like most offers had to stay open until the 28th, but it appears there's still hope.

Has anyone who has accepted an ATR offer received a written offer or anything relating to starting the clearance paperwork? Thanks in advance.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
