This mass-mailing idea does not work very well for GTers except strong tie to the location you are mass-mailing to.Anonymous User wrote:IP or not, continue mailing firms until you have an offer. Don't rely on EIW. So long as you are at least medianish, you will almost assuredly get a few CBs that way. If you are IP, then lower, significantly sub-median GPAs may also suffice (for PROSECUTION positions, that is).Anonymous User wrote:you sure? top third 0 cb so far. desperate...Anonymous User wrote:IP people are the worst. I asked a few recruitment coordinators during the EIW at the hospitality suites about how they deal with the application emails. None of them even bother reading your cover letter, they go down to your GPA and run a GPA cutoff. So if your GPA is lower than top 1/3 or even top 15%, you stands no chance to be picked up.
As to mass-mailing, if no 1/3 GPA, strong tie to the area, or some special background (e.g., IP), do not even bother doing it.

Re: Georgetown EIW 2014
LOL WTF are you talking about? Firms ALL advertise top 1/3 "cutoffs" for T14 schools to make themselves seem desirable/exclusive; stop drinking their self-aggrandizing kool aid. If you are mass mailing to NY, MANY firms will give you CBs at median (but do it quickly before their classes fill up); I know this from experience. For secondary markets, obviously you need ties, but ties are quite easily manufactured.Anonymous User wrote:This mass-mailing idea does not work very well for GTers except strong tie to the location you are mass-mailing to.Anonymous User wrote:IP or not, continue mailing firms until you have an offer. Calm down, people!
Anyway, question here, do you guys schedule your CBs only on the dates you don't have class or the earliest date possible?

I'm missing the entire first week of class... I vaguely recall reading (maybe in the eiw info packet?) that we aren't allowed to skip classes for interviews. But eff thatAnonymous User wrote:Usually earliest date possible, in case offers are rolling.Anonymous User wrote:Calm down, people!

Got this too. Also got dinged by Knobbe (SV/SD); did anyone actually receive callbacks from them? Or did they pretty much just waste Georgetown's time?Anonymous User wrote:for ip people: just got a request for undergrad transcript from christie; guess we need to be more patient...

One thing to keep in mind people - as individuals start getting callbacks or offers, they probably stop checking TLS as much. Don't despair, keep your chin up - you WILL get employed, you WILL get a great opportunity, you ARE a special magical unicorn-fighter-jet combination!
