I don't know if I would say 'wait-listed.' I'm not sure how many people they hire in Nassau but we've only heard of maybe 2 people getting this. Even if there are another 5 of those special offers going out I don't think it means the rest of us who receive the 'finalist' email have been waitlisted.encore1101 wrote:Sounds like it, but like someone mentioned earlier, its still better than being outright rejected, which is also possible. I'd expect that once they're finished with all their third rounds, have all their "must-hires" already accounted for, they'll start going down the list. Definitely sucks as someone waiting to hear back.Anonymous User wrote:So I take it those of us that got the letter with "pleased to inform you you are in the final group under consideration! Offers will be given after interviews are completed" are constructively waitlisted.encore1101 wrote:Nope. I get the feeling DA Rice prefers females though.Anonymous User wrote:

I agree, "waitlisted" may not be the best phrase, but if you think about it, it really is a wait list. In the extreme example that there's 30 slots available, and 30 "special offers" go out, anyone who is in "final consideration" list will get bumped off.Anonymous User wrote:

That being said, its extremely unlikely to happen, but nobody not in their office knows how many spots they have, how many of these immediate offers they'll extend, and how many have/will accept. For what its worth, one of my friends who was extended this offer did not accept, and the other is still deciding.

Re: District Attorneys' Offices 2014
I was at Nassau DA my 2L summer and from what I was told 30 might be on the high end (I know you were just giving this as a hypothetical) - 20 I think is more realistic. I have my 3rd round in a couple weeks and I'm others agree... it is shitty news that offers are already going out before some of us have had a 3rd round.encore1101 wrote:I agree, "waitlisted" may not be the best phrase, but if you think about it, it really is a wait list. Just got an email for a second round at Suffolk (LI). Anyone else? Anyone know what to expect during the second round?

Anyone heard from Manhattan? I sent them an updated transcript about a month ago, and had a third round way back in late October. Still no word. I'm starting to wonder if my rejection got lost in the mail or something...

Whatever we want to call it, this final consideration/waitlist business might be more prevalent than we think. Count off if you have received this "desirable" email

For the people who have received Nassau offers, or know others who have - did DA Rice say they would be making decisions in April? I'm just wondering if she omitted that statement for interviewees she was planning to offer later that day.

My source says DA Rice did make that statement prior to making an offer a few hours later.Anonymous User wrote:For the people who have received Nassau offers, or know others who have - did DA Rice say they would be making decisions in April? I work in a different office in the state, but according to interns I had who all applied...at least 1 offer went out in early February, and as of last week there was a hiring freeze. I know the earlier offer was not accepted.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know anything about the Palm Beach State Attorney's office?

Does anyone know when the bulk of offers will be made for Queens? I know some have been made already, but I'm wondering if they are done making offers or there are still several left to come.

Did they give any sort of timeline for when that might be? I also wonder if that means they'll be looking at the applications submitted last year or if they'll be collecting new ones.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
