Wow dude. This process is so arbitrary at times.

Edit: By "at times" I mean, all the time

Same here :(. If they offered me, I probably would have taken it too.

Yeah I was a bit surprised. Got a great vibe during the interview, was engaged with the interviewers, etc.

That seems like a school screening thing. Has anyone got a mass mail CB from Akin without going to one of the schools they traditionally recruit from?

So I got a response to one of my mass mailers. The firm wants to meet with me. I basically said I'd be in the city in the letter, so it looks like I'll be flying myself out there. Luckily airfare should only be ~150 bucks (LA ---> SF).

Would ya'll recommend I follow up by phone or email with other firms to let them know I'll be in the area on a specific date? I mass mailed about 20 firms and had the same proviso at the end about being in the city in the near future. I feel like following up with a specific date might net me a couple more screeners?

I'm also not sure if the firm mentioned above will be treating the interview as a screener or CB, or some sort of hybrid. At least it's a nibble.

Got CB from screener I did with Herrick, Feinstein in NY. The screener was secured through mass mail. I have more mass mail CB's than I do through OCI, which is a bit weird.

I also did significantly better in terms of mass mailings than at OCI (as in, I've actually gotten CB's through mass mail and got nada so far out of OCI).

+1.

8 mass mail CB's, 1 thru our tiny pink OCI.

I got a screener phone interview with a large firm's Chicago office. I currently live in the SE. Are phone interviews pretty common for those out of state?

Is that after a CB or just from a standard mass mailing?
