Happened to me. Just an opportunity for you to ask questions etc. beforehand.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 5:40 pmI have a CB with STB and an alum reached out and wanted to schedule a call with me beforehand. Is this normal?
All part of the charm offensive, I guess. I'll say that I'm impressed (but perhaps I'm just easy to impress).

Re: Pre-OCI 2021
I have upcoming CB with STB DC and also interested to know more about the office. Seems small but expanding? Their website says 65+ attys, but NALP now has them at 84, and last year they gave 10 SA offers, which seems large for 84 attorney office? Hadn’t been on my radar before - def seems like corporate is big, but also lit of some kind? Antitrust lit and investigations? Very interested to learn more.

I’m not sure about a bad sign, but it’s certainly not a good one. Based on past threads/early data points from this year:Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 7:48 pmHow long does it take to hear back from STB after CB? If it takes more than a week is it a bad sign.
if STB likes you a lot, you’re getting an offer within 3-5 business days. However, some people reported interviewing in June and didn’t hear back until mid July - with offers. Others reported the same with dings. You’re basically waitlisted right now while they interview and assess more candidates.
So you still have a shot but odds are lower now.

Skadden - I have a “preliminary interview” next week that’s 2 hours long with “an attorney in the New York office”. Was not asked to fill out any random assessment... can anyone advise if this is a call back or not? Very confused. Never heard of a screening that’s 2 hours.

They asked you if you were free during the 2 hour window? then you say yes and a couple days before they'll give you a 20 minute time frame sometime during that two hour window...it's a screener

How does STB notify applicants of a rejection? How long does it take for them to reject you?

You read my mind. CB last week, they said the hiring committee was meeting this week but we might not hear for another week or two after this one.

Re: Pre-OCI 2021
For all Latham NY CB/offer people - would you mind sharing approx school/stats?
Also, to the STB rejection question - it varies, they give some dings quickly and others after a few weeks. Based on older threads, dings should start rolling out in the next week or two

I’m sorry to hear that, but may I ask why you don’t think it went well? This was my first firm interview so I’m having a hard time gauging how it went.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 11:40 amnope haven't heard anything yet. callback 2 weeks and 1 day ago. still nothing. they did say it would take 2ish weeks to hear back but my callback didn't go well so i dont have much hope.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 9:36 amHas anyone that had a CB with Milbank in the last couple weeks heard back yet?
