The only way pockets get you no-offered is if you go double-pocketed with your dress shirt

Have gotten plenty of good stuff, from multiple drinking vessels, to bags, to chargers, to Bluetooth speakers, to food, etc.

Won't lie. I like that I'm being paid for little work. But I am eagerly waiting for August to come.

It's a shame you can't really do anything with a law firm branded backpack without looking like a total shitbird.

Unless one of the excited dudes at this party is celebrating with a firm other than his own, I think this group is from Covington in DC.
For real? I guess it's telling that I don't go out enough to be able to figure out where this is in DC. There aren't that many "cool" night spots to go around.
The group being from the DC office doesn't mean the event is in DC tho.
It was. Not planned either - a partner and an 8th year decided to take us clubbing after an event.

What kinds of seeds have you guys been planting re: NYC to 190K?

First order of business is (politely) letting them know that you will not accept their offer unless they go to 190K.

Ideally let them know on Day 1 but definitely in Week 1.

This sounds potentially problematic.

If I caught wind of summer associates doing this at my firm, I would do my darndest to make sure they did not receive offers. Just evinces a lack of judgment to me.

Good on them for keeping it on the down low (at least from attorneys at the firm). That doesn't mean that it was a correct or smart decision.

So what is it exactly that Summers do at Texas firms? I hear some regions have more of a reputation for giving less work than others.

At least the people in recruiting seemed to know/not care. Not saying it's the smartest thing to do in the world but from what I gather it is much more of the norm than you are leading these kids to believe.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
