I got paid over $3k this week to copy and paste cases and statutes into a word document. Plus got plenty of free breakfasts and lunches, but only free alcohol once. Am I getting shortchanged?

Executive partner of the office, at lunch: "our target is about 1800 hrs., and I'd say most of our associates average about that, maybe up to 1900"

Litigation associate after several drinks at reception: "I'm on track for 2300 hours this year."

Got a couple SA research assignments this past week where the answer just didn't exist. I said as much and didn't receive a response--should I be worried? Full disclosure: one of these research questions was relevant to preparing an expert witness and it was asked about 90 minutes before the partner started preparing the witness...and he expected the answer in those 90 minutes. I wasn't able to get a good answer in that time frame, and just gave the partner my incomplete answer.

Nervous. Should I be?
