Future OCI people: mass mailing is real. I have an offer from my preferred secondary market. It's an amazing firm and my favorite city besides Chicago. It's made OCI much more relaxed and I've gotten great callbacks partially because I feel great walking in. Mass mail the day grades come out in July.

Sure, in a way that's useful for all of us. Telling the thread about all the offers that you have from pre-OCI callbacks while everyone else is just trying to get a callback in the first place helps no one and raises stress, and if you're really interested in encouraging the now 1L's to mass mail you can go post it in their thread rather than deep on the 25th page of this thread. This thread is about OCI, not pre-OCI, not mass mailing, something that is distinctly not OCI.

Yeah, definitely don't listen to people who advise waiting until late July or early August to massmail. By then it seems all the recruiters are tied up with OCI preparations, and are often not even in office for days on end.

Yeah, definitely don't listen to people who advise waiting until late July or early August to massmail. By then it seems all the recruiters are tied up with OCI preparations, and are often not even in office for days on end.

Seconded. I waited until the day grades were released to start drafting cover letters and didn't get emails out until the end of July.

Write those suckers early.

One of my fellow SAs this past summer landed his job because he had emailed and met with partners at my firm before even entering law school. This was a secondary market, of course, but it was insane to hear how many offers he had received simply by meeting and talking with people from a very early stage.

There is no such thing as "too early," apparently.

I was going to say be careful saying this shit because neurotic 0Ls are going to do it, but, like, maybe that's a positive in this case.

I'd caution against it because you'll make mistakes early on. You can, however, practice with smaller firms you're not SUPER interested in.
