anyone know the deal with cb-offer time frames? is it like with screeners where after about a week you're done?

This is generally the time frame for New York firms, although it may depend on when the hiring committee meets. My general impression that if it's much more than a week since you've had your callback and you haven't heard anything, it's probably a ding.

Curious about Morgan Lewis and dechert NY, haven't heard from them so I'm assuming a rejection letter is on the way, but did anyone that got cb's at either place hear back long after their screener?

Agreed. But note, I've definitely heard (not completely anomalous stories) of people hearing back 2+ weeks, especially if its not a super prominent NY firm. I think with Screener --> CB it's a lot clearer that if you haven't heard back it's a ding after a few days. CB ---> offer would seem to be a more thoughtful process given the greater level of commitment.

Factors that could also make a difference: Whether the CB was an individual one or a "super" day CB with many candidates. Whether the firm has a huge SA class or not (I imagine they'd give out offers with less consideration of later candidates).

Just my 2 cents. (It's been a week since a CB I felt really really good about so I'm rationalizing haha)

Just to give some people out there hope, I got a cb Wednesday Proskauer (CS), almost 2 weeks after the screener. The recruiter mentioned that someone had canceled. If you have not been dinged yet you are still in the running.
