hey guys. i got an offer at OIL last week (the 11th). there was a phone interview then an offer about 1.5 weeks later. A friend has accepted with EOIR. She got her offer before I did, with no interview.

Do you know how much sooner she got the offer?

EOIR mentioned that they will be giving out offers by city, so I wonder if that affects whether they give offers out all at the same time or not. I wish we had more reference points to go by on here.

Also, do you know if that was her top choice?

yeah, sorry, havent heard much more about EOIR. For OIL, I know they are taking six people, I can account for myself and one other. that's all the info i've got!

also just to clarify, this was SLIP and not Honors. As far as whether SLIP can lead to post-grad opportunities, the DOJ website says that some students are "funneled" into the honors program, but my interviewer couldn't recall it happening recently.

This is why I can't understand why anybody would want to do SLIP in favor of biglaw/midlaw. It's too risky.

Ideally, even if you didnt get funnelled, itd put you in a nice spot when you're applying to honors. However, I know people who did SLIP and didn't even get an honors interview and vice versa.

Listen, I know I seem to be one of the only people here who is a finalist for the SLIP who has absolutely no other legitimate summer opportunity left. I didn't get any offers after callbacks. I don't begrudge any of you the right to evaluate your options and decide that you have better opportunities and/or the SLIP isn't right for you, but is it really that hard to understand why someone would be desperate to get an offer from the SLIP even if there isn't the same chance for permanent employment afterwards that there is in biglaw?

Possible other reason: You realized you actually don't want to work for a firm and would be terribly unhappy doing so.

DOJ or clerkship if I can. If not, I'll figure it out.

Is there anyone else who got a 2nd interview from BOP and doesn't have a change in status yet? Mine is still suck at Selected for Further Consideration and I haven't heard anything since my 2nd interview. Getting nervous.

im dying to know. I have been a finalist for quite some time now. Im prob an alternate.
