It was like 6 junior associates, and Schiff eventually trued-up everyone.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 9:01 pmI know this isn’t a V100, but does anyone know which practices at Schiff Hardin had 50% salary cuts? I’m planning to move to Chicago and I thought Schiff Hardin would be a good midsize firm to look into but I just read about the 50%.

Thought it would be helpful to bump this thread for a 2021 update. Have the large-scale layoffs mostly stopped since last year? I have heard rumblings of a V40 stealthing associates in a slow trickle and has pretty much evaded detection by ATL, but other than that, hiring or lack thereof by firms has been opaque this year it seems.

based on the number of recruiting emails/calls received each week I'd be shocked if people are being laid off in droves. M&A is going bonkers right now. I would assume people will be pushed out in 2-3 years time once work slows down and headcount isn't needed.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 2:53 pmThought it would be helpful to bump this thread for a 2021 update. Hard to imagine any firms are still doing economic layoffs now. Associates with low hours are always being pushed out, but I don't think too many biglaw attorneys are slow right now.
