No..if you're asking this question you don't deserve a job
That was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful...

Firms will expect a much higher degree of familiarity; so not different, so to speak, just reflecting that you're doing this for a handful of firms rather than a couple dozen. And you'll likely be interviewing with folks in your expressed desired practice area, so maybe read up on recent firm news for that practice area (again, in more depth than you likely did before). Good luck!

Haha... sounds like someone is jealous and hating! In response to the initial post, try to find out who you will be meeting with and do your research on each person.

Great going to spend the better part of today not helplessly waiting and praying for good news.

As for dings, this isn't a definitive answer by no means, but ~usually~ callbacks come before dings so I'm assuming nobody got dinged yet.

sorry if this has been posted before, but what rate of people from callbacks get hired? someone told me over 50% at the big firms (edit: specifically at Hogan), which seems wrong?

The way I've had it explained to me by people who worked on hiring committees in big firms is as follows: you're not invited to a callback unless the firm feels comfortable (as comfortable as they can feel from the initial 20 minute screener) extending an offer to you. Most of the callback is to gauge how interested and engaged the candidates are, and to narrow the pack to the firm's needs (i.e. getting the right distribution of candidates interested in different practice areas, geographic/school/racial/gender diversity).

It's hard to put a percentage on it, but if it helps you sleep at night...it's probably around 50% assuming you have a respectable showing in the interviews
