Has anyone gotten or know anyone who's gotten an offer to go to Newark, NJ?

How and When do you think they decide the geographic locations? (before or after calling references, based on strength of applicant, etc)

Can you specify what court in the Northeast you got an offer from? Congrats!

curious why more components have not yet met their hiring goals, given that their offers are out. assuming that means that the offerees have not all accepted as of yet, seems like people with offers must have some misgivings about accepting. as someone w/o an offer, i'm curious why people would not accept (exclusive of the immigration spots that are location dependent). am i missing something here?

Some people might get multiple DOJ/ non-DOJ offers or have other considerations to think about. Can we really generalize everyone?

Immigration is not the only division who is location dependent.

No, but I'll post here if I get an offer.
I interviewed week 2 and I'm pretty sure none of my references have been checked. Don't know what's going on.

I received and accepted an offer for Chicago (preference #1) today, and my roommate received and accepted an offer for Boston (preference #3) on Tuesday. Best of luck to everyone!

You're also assuming components all report to EARM that their hiring goals are met in a timely fashion.

Has anyone received an offer WITHOUT reference checks? (or ref checks after offer?)

For those of you with offers, what pay grade were you offered? It seems that there is a significant difference between what the DOJ-HP web site states and what OCIJ offers...

I am a current law student and I was offered to start at a GS-11. Also I had all my references checked before my offer, just an FYI for people wondering.

I received an offer today. My references must have been contacted just this week (or within the past couple of days), so the turnaround was really fast. If you haven't had your references checked, don't count yourself out yet! Best luck, all!

I mean, if you asked where it was, and the person says "Southern California," chances are good they didn't want to specify the city.

Chill out, maybe the person also got the same court and wants to chat.

Deanna did say that they issue rolling offers. I'm hoping this means they could still want me, they just haven't gotten to me yet.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
