Sorry to keep beating the Beck Redden drum, but has anyone heard of someone actually getting an offer? Haven't got a ding letter yet. Thinking of emailing the recruiter to check in and tell them that they're my top pick. Doubt it will help at this point, but whatever.

Also haven't heard of any offers. They've been interviewing since at least late July, so I imagine no news at this point = dingAnonymous User wrote:Sorry to keep beating the Beck Redden drum, but has anyone heard of someone actually getting an offer? Well I was told when I interviewed that decisions would be made last week. I took that to mean that no offers would be given out until then.Anonymous User wrote:Also haven't heard of any offers. Probably. I'm naively hoping that they delayed giving offers until this week. I'll keep that up until I get my ding letter in the mail I guess.Anonymous User wrote:Yeah that's my point, if offers were given out last week and we didn't get one = dingAnonymous User wrote:Well I was told when I interviewed that decisions would be made last week. I haven't heard from PH this week. Still no dings either so I guess that is good for both of us, unless we are both screwed.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard anything from Porter Hedges or Gardere (Houston) this week?

I looked through this same thread from last year and offers and rejections looked to have hit everyone this week, and specifically offers on Wednesday. Take that FWIW.Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard from PH this week. I agree, also strange that some have gotten dings, but not others. I really wish this process was more transparentAnonymous User wrote:Surprised not one person is posting about known Beck Redden offersAnonymous User wrote:Sorry to keep beating the Beck Redden drum, but has anyone heard of someone actually getting an offer? I really need all of your help.
Does Vinson & Elkins allow split summers, particularly for the second half of the summer? I'd need to spend the first 10 weeks of the summer at another firm, but if they'd be okay with it I'd love to spend 6 weeks with V&E.
Somehow their website doesn't answer this, and refers only to splitting between two V&E offices or with a public interest group.
Thanks so much.

How did this never come up until now? Ask them.Anonymous User wrote:I really need all of your help.

V&E has a first half program, they likely will not let you not be there for those 6 weeks.
I do know of one person who split and did the second half with BB last summer (they have a first half program as well), but that was a unique situation, as they wanted him for a specific group due to his background.

I just got the V&E offer today, was why. I'd been planning on working for a New York firm that requires me to spend the first 10 weeks there until this came up. I have no special background.Anonymous User wrote:How did this never come up until now? Ask them.
