48 hours. But I know other people with offers that took up to 2 weeks.
What day of the week was the offer? Do you know when the committee meets?

I know one person is accepting, as it's their only offer. The others are waiting to hear from other firms, and likely would accept at other firms because of the salary discrepancy.

And my CB was on a Tuesday, offer came on Thursday. Not sure when the committee meets.

Have you heard of anyone accepting their offers?
I'll add and say I know someone who accepted theirs as well. I got an offer roughly 1 week after my CB and turned it down.

Funny, that's my exact GPA. I got 12 callbacks and 3 offers.
As a top top student at one of the lower LA schools, I freaking hate that. Congrats to you but damn it sucks for all of us at lower ranked schools, regardless of our individual rank.

Number 1 in our class still doesn't have offers, but then again he is a little aspie.
To be fair, I know of people with higher GPAs than that with far fewer callbacks and offers.
I know top students at USC/UCLA who don't have that many callbacks and offers. Then again, 3.45 poster is probably not interviewing with the same firms as the those at the top of USC/UCLA. Poster may be competitive in his/her GPA range but let's be real, it's hard for even top people at USC/UCLA to compete with T14 at OMM/MTO/etc.
Same anon here. You're only partially right. I didn't even try for OMM or MTO, but I did get CBs from Kirkland and MoFo. I knew which firms cared about GPA more and didn't bother. What a LOT of people, especially on TLS, forget is that you can really sell yourself with your personality and *good* work experience. It's not all just numbers (for some firms it is). That's what I did, and the results speak for themselves.

I do think part of the problem is that a lot of people didn't do their research about the selectivity of firms. Your point is correct that it's not all just numbers, but your situation also speaks to how much it still is about numbers. You didn't try for OMM/MTO/GDC/Irell, and you almost certainly wouldn't have gotten CBs based on your numbers alone. You did try for Kirkland and MoFo, which your numbers didn't preclude you from, and your personality/work experience is likely what made you stand out from the rest of the candidates.

Personality and work experience aren't going to compensate for lack of grades. Grades get you in the door - period. It's personality and work experience that are going to make you stand out among those who are similarly situated grade-wise, whether you have a 3.45 or a 3.65. Kirkland and MoFo are reputable firms but they aren't sticklers for grades. I'd be truly impressed if your personality & work experience were able to get you a CB from GDC or Latham (and those don't even have Top 10% cutoffs).

Anonymous User wrote:How are exit options from Manatt? Also, anybody know why they don't pay market?
They don't pay market because they have greater longevity internally across the board for all associates. People generally stay there for a long time. Pay slightly under to keep everyone on the train, while being profitable. That is precisely the reason why "How are exit options from Manatt?" questions are not commonly asked.

However, if I had to speculate, I would presume exit options are fine. They have a reputable entertainment and health care practice, both of which would suffice for a solid in-house counsel position.

Anyone heard anything from Littler LA?
Checked the Littler thread and there's not much about LA there.
I mass mailed a few weeks ago, silence since then.

99% of mass-mail applications will end with complete silence. Keep mass-mailing as if you didn't get an interview, then it's a pleasant surprise if you do.
