Way to go! What did they tell you about a timeframe to accept (that is, if you didn't immediately accept over the phone)?Anonymous User wrote:Just got an offer from Antitrust DC!!!!! Status changed this morning.

They follow NALP guidelines, so like 28 or 30 days.Anonymous User wrote:Way to go! What did they tell you about a timeframe to accept (that is, if you didn't immediately accept over the phone)?Anonymous User wrote:Just got an offer from Antitrust DC!!!!! Status changed this morning.

Sorry to pester, but I have to ask: did they call your references before you got the offer? (Or was it Antitrust who called before even interviewing people?)

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
Has anyone heard of an offer for ATR -SF or CHI?
(I know there's only 1 offeree for each - but we won't out you - you can just say you've heard of it, even if it's you!)

Yes, I have. ATR seems to have been on things early. I think it's safe to assume that all first-round offers have gone out.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard of an offer for ATR -SF or CHI?

Criminal Tax - selected as finalist! I have no idea when this happened, I haven't checked this thread in a week so I didn't know to check Avue. So excited!

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
I think quite a few people have still been asking about criminal, ENRD, BOP, and others. Whether people have been selected as finalists and just aren't posting is another story.kellbell wrote:Criminal Tax - selected as finalist! Anyone here interview at civil, criminal, tax, etc and NOT be selected as a finalist yet? It sounds like everyone who has interviewed in this thread has been selected as a finalist, lol.

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
If you think about it, for components like civil rights--which only hires 3 people--the probability that one of those three is on TLS is pretty low...

So does getting a Civil/Civil RIghts spot essentially require a COA's clerkship now?

Selected as finalist for Antitrust-DC. Since it seems some offers have gone out already, this probably means I am an alternate... really hoping someone who got an offer decides they'd rather cash in at a big law firm!

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
Well, I've been Google/LinkedIn stalking, trying to find Honors Attorneys for civil or civil rights, and I've only found 3, but they all did COA clerkships. (One had a 9th Cir. COA clerkship following a SDNY clerkship.) For what that's worth.Anonymous User wrote:So does getting a Civil/Civil RIghts spot essentially require a COA's clerkship now?

Yeah, they called at least three of my references in the first week of November, after my interview. At least one Antitrust field office called references prior to interview selections.

(I'm stressed thinking about Monday-Wednesday too; wish there was something I could do to distract myself on those days but I know I'll be looking at my phone every 5 minutes: did I miss a call?? no... did I miss a call?? no... did I miss a call?? no...)

Ditto to all the above. I am terrified and excited and trying not to think about it as I pathetically attempt to prepare for tomorrow's classes.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for the answer!Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Congratulations!!!Anonymous User wrote:Just got an offer from Antitrust DC!!!!! For what it is worth:
I interviewed for EOIR, was selected as a "finalist" on Thursday. Received an email on Friday that 1 of my references had switched jobs and to provide updated info for that reference. Not sure if that hurt my chances or not.

I think I'm nervous about the references aspect of this. If references haven't been called, do you think that means you're not getting an offer Monday-Wednesday? Ugh, this whole process is nerve-wracking and I'm driving myself crazy!

Do we know if they call your references or do they e-mail them?
