Still on hold I guess. Though I heard of someone with a rejection from not shortly after CB, so not hearing anything is a plus I thinkAnonymous User wrote:Any word from Nutter?

When did you receive the ding? Re: BC/BU OCI
Did anyone do a later CB (early-mid Sept.) w/ Ropes and hear anything about the exact size of this year's class? I go to a school with an earlier OCI and we were all given a range so just curious if they have nailed anything down yet.

Somewhere in the 30s. And I think they may have already filled their class sizeAnonymous User wrote:Did anyone do a later CB (early-mid Sept.) w/ Ropes and hear anything about the exact size of this year's class? How do people feel BC/BU are doing in OCI right now in terms of firm jobs?

(BU) I feel like people are doing good (better than the class before us) ---BUT people who aren't doing well are probably not talking about it.

Re: BC/BU OCI
I haven't spoken to a lot of people, but my impression is that people are doing fine. I know people without journal at BU getting jobs at some elite Vault firms in Boston. I know of others with jobs in secondary markets. But really, I only know where, like, four people are going, and I don't what their grades are. What I came away with from OCI is that grades aren't the only thing that matters. My guess is that the incoming class will do better given that it is smaller.Anonymous User wrote:How do people feel BC/BU are doing in OCI right now in terms of firm jobs?

Yeah? I honestly thought it would have rebounded a bit and been pretty good. My assumption was that the top 25% or so was going to be fine, with essentially anyone in the top 1/3 at least contending for some good positions. Am I totally off in that assumption?Anonymous User wrote:My general sense so far is that it is an absolute slaughterAnonymous User wrote:How do people feel BC/BU are doing in OCI right now in terms of firm jobs?

Re: BC/BU OCI
Different poster here. I still think that's an okay assumption. Even if 25-30% get jobs, that still is technically a "slaughter." The economy has definitely not rebounded. Given the talk how Ropes has cut back its summer class, I think we are far from being out of the hole. It's not a free fall, and you're not really seeing the deferrals or non-offers like in the past. People can still get legal jobs if they try really hard and are flexible regarding where they work.Anonymous User wrote:Yeah? I honestly thought it would have rebounded a bit and been pretty good. Re: BC/BU OCI
I think that the firms just restructured themselves in a way to be more "recession proof" and they are much more careful about class sizes, etc. Hopefully we won't see all the deferrals and no-offers as in the past. The upside is that new associates can be a bit more hand-on because they aren't in classes of 50. Downside, less new associates (i.e. jobs).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
