A few data points from last week that might be helpful for people in this thread (and/or posterity) who are tracking offer timing...

DPW: offer received circa one week after CB (lesson - waitlist actually exists? don't give up hope)
S&C: offer received circa 36 hours after CB
CSM: received same day offer, but not immediately at end of interviews as some others have reported
Re CSM: (1) did they call/email you on the day of? (2) did you meet with the hiring partner at the end? Thanks!
(1) Yes - call. (2) No.

What's the deal with pre-callback questionnaires? How are they used and any advice for how to approach them?

Has anybody else gotten an extremely low number of callbacks, no offers, and are thinking they won't get a job? If we don't get firm jobs this summer, does anybody know how that will affect the job search after graduation?
I don't have any so far, been mass mailing, in touch with OCS, trying to network and all that stuff--but it's been brutal as hell so far. With that, I'm confident it will work out--but it's taxing, and really, I just want it to be over with.
How have you been networking? I am in a similar situation and I mostly only know 1st/2nd/3rd year associates than anyone with hiring power.

So what is the admin's logic for fake-banning pre-oci again? It seems like it was particularly dumb this go around to follow the admin's rule.
There is none and you should never listen to their fake rules. There were plenty of posts in the past about the benefits of pre-EIP.
Amazing lesson from law school OCS: policies & rules don't actually matter and you should feel free to disregard
Gotta admit that the joke is largely on me for thinking that law students & law firms would be willing to honor a set of arbitrary, silly rules (misled because following the rules is always my first instinct).
I feel really bad for people like you who did nothing wrong by following the rules but ended up getting screwed over by peers who simply disregarded the rules. So much for "camaraderie" and a "collegial" school culture...

Sure, CB was towards the end of WIP week, heard back with offer towards end of last week.

I mean, I fall within that category, but I do not particularly feel like I got screwed and/or that collegiality was threatened. I am more frustrated with the administration for exacerbating inequality/advantages while trying to mitigate it/them.

I’m with you. I feel fortunate I still did pretty well this cycle but it’s outrageous to make “rules” that act as nothing more than a wink-wink. Not to mention I think OCS def misread the market in NY and are now scrambling as people have far fewer CBs than anticipated. Regardless, they should jsut be transparent and say EIP is the main step of the process but Ofc there is always some early apps. Worse case scenario is more mass mailing early and I don’t see the issue tbh

They're being selfish and looking out for their own interests. Hard to justify having OCS or EIP if Pre-EIP becomes more prevalent. This would lead to downsizing the staff aka losing their jobs.

Wow it's shocking to hear that Columbia OCS misread their own market...

On the topic of OCS blowing it, the other unique thing about this year is that we're doing EIP half a year later into our law school careers than is typical. So *of course* a lot of students have already been doing "practice interviews" and "networking calls" that were actually screeners and callbacks. They already have a semester of grades and 1L internships to show off, so no surprise there. Meanwhile, a lot of us are out of the loop on these things due to the pandemic. So I think OCS had a special responsibility to be forthright with us this year...

OCS offers practice interviews and networking events to every student at the school. The majority of the networking events this semester with law firms had less than a dozen people attend. Every single affinity organization had its own version of practice interviews and opportunities to network with employers. OCS may not have been forthright about the prevalence of early interviewing, but there were opportunities for people who put in effort.

Yeah I agree. It's clear that those who took initiative to connect with employers are doing well and those that didn't are now complaining about lack of CBs or w/e. At some point, you need to take accountability.

It's mainly actually talking to those law students and having them refer/recommend me to recruiters at firms I didn't get a chance to screen with. It seems like it might be somewhat more effective, though I'm still trying to figure out the exact best way to go about it.

CB was end of last week. Best of luck to you if you're still waiting to hear back -- hopefully at least I'm freeing up a slot for someone still waiting!

I am just curious; if many Columbia students are underperforming this season, what about other kids at lower-ranking schools? Is this an odd year for everyone?

Yes, students are definitely underperforming at other T14s.
