I didn't bring a bluebook. We were never told to. I just called the library and asked them to bring me one. Totally cool with it.

So far my summer has been more work and people are more formally dressed (everyone not just SAs) than TLS led me to believe it would be. Good food though.

Got my first assignment yesterday, associate told me to check in at the end of the day to discuss my progress (getting another assignment today from another associate, so he wanted to see which one should have higher priority). We had more training and a 2 hour lunch. Walked in his office at 5:10 and said I hadn't done much. Left for happy hour.

Can't wait to make partner.

First assignment meeting: Partner + Associate work coordinator + me.

Partner: [Blah blah blah] ...and any time you update me with cases or material you find, I want materials from WestLaw CLASSIC.

Literally never used WestLaw Classic in my life.

I second ihavent or whatever the fuck his name is. I'm shithoused right now, 4 days out of 4. I'm at a V20 in a non-NYC major market.

Today we had 25 attorneys show up to happy hour at 6:00. By 8:00, there were about 40 there.

Westlaw classic is brutal.

It seems like most people aren't summering where they went to LS. I guess going to school in DC gives me a skewed perspective.

Hi guys, looking for some help here. I just started my SA and was out to lunch with some associates and the waitress came to get our drink order. I've never been much of a drinker at all, I don't know anything about beer or wine or anything so I just ordered a "Long Island" because I know it from pop culture or whatever. I thought since this was a SA it would be weird if I just ordered a coke or something. Anyway, no one else got an alcoholic drink but I felt it would be too awkward to change my order. I definitely got a weird vibe after that. Am I screwed?
