What is the deal with Norton Rose and Haynes and Boone in Texas? Every other legitimate firm there has matched at this point. NRF doesn't surprise me as much as HayBoo who dolled out market+ bonuses this last year. I am guessing these firms have to match if they expect to pull any kind of talent recruiting wise, but is there any way to explain the wait?

Every month they delay is a few thousand more in each partner's pocket? Maybe some firms are going to milk it until OCI....

I could be wrong but I don't think NRF was anywhere near market, except for first years starting at $160 base, even prior to this raise.Anonymous User wrote:What is the deal with Norton Rose and Haynes and Boone in Texas? I think this is correct, but they haven't even jumped to 180 yet. This cannot be the best idea when their summers are splitting at other firms who have already matched. They have been struggling for a while I have heard, I would not be surprised if they match $180 but then do some weird black box non-lockstep raise system.Anonymous User wrote:I could be wrong but I don't think NRF was anywhere near market, except for first years starting at $160 base, even prior to this raise.Anonymous User wrote:What is the deal with Norton Rose and Haynes and Boone in Texas? At least for NY, not sure about other offices. Reliable source.

Bryan Cave didn't match. They moved up to 160k in DC/NYC effective Jan. 1, 2017.Anonymous User wrote:Bryan Cave matched?Anonymous User wrote:SA at Husch, compensation got brought up during the summer retreat. Polsinelli announced raises, allegedly. Amounts not known.
Also heard they raised. Not sure to what though
Phoenix, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Denver went from $125k to $135k. Not sure where the other offices fit in, but those aren't large ones to begin with and not sure if they had many young associates.
My guess is Husch will match, but not Stinson.

Depends - are we counting firms that "match" but don't actually follow the full Cravath scale (i.e. K&L)?smaug wrote:how close am I on this?smaug wrote:I'm saying I would take they do match or exceedCapitol_Idea wrote:K - which side do you want?smaug wrote:Tar bet that all v50 in NYC match or exceed?Capitol_Idea wrote:In a dark way I'm interested in seeing who won't match. Oh I didn't think about that ambiguity
I thought just for first years. It would be unwinnable otherwise due to black box

saw the law 360 article that mentioned a Kansas City firm going to $180k
it's Hughes Hubbard, who just downsized all the way to precisely one KC associate
shouldn't that guy get half of the combined salary of everyone he killed in the arena or was I misled as to how all of this works?

Brendan Franzoni DOMINATING the KC BBQ scene, giving your girlfriend the "dry rub" before CRUSHING Boulevard six-packs in Chiefs box seats with Yosemite Sam Yemington while Polsinelli bros close the shades and spend 45 minutes scrolling for a Tori Black video they haven't seen yet.
