What is the deal with Norton Rose and Haynes and Boone in Texas? Every other legitimate firm there has matched at this point. NRF doesn't surprise me as much as HayBoo who dolled out market+ bonuses this last year. I am guessing these firms have to match if they expect to pull any kind of talent recruiting wise, but is there any way to explain the wait?

I think this is correct, but they haven't even jumped to 180 yet. This cannot be the best idea when their summers are splitting at other firms who have already matched. They have been struggling for a while I have heard, I would not be surprised if they match $180 but then do some weird black box non-lockstep raise system.

In a dark way I'm interested in seeing who won't match. This could be the point where segmentation in the top-tier of firms is finally and concretely reflected in salaries: the firms who are doing well and can afford this jump vs. those that really, really can't and won't even bother. Top 40 or 50 most profitable AmLaw 100 firms will likely make the jump, but will low-profitable or struggling firms even try (a good half of the AmLaw 200 have had some rough times lately)?

Tar bet that all v50 in NYC match or exceed?

Polsinelli announced raises, allegedly. Amounts not known.

They weren't paying market before, anywhere.

Also heard they raised. Not sure to what though

Offices in more expensive cities went from $145 to $160k. Chicago, LA, DC, Dallas. Not sure about SF/Boston/Houston (Boston and Houston are brand new anyway).

Phoenix, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Denver went from $125k to $135k. Not sure where the other offices fit in, but those aren't large ones to begin with and not sure if they had many young associates.

Esoteric Q but: anybody know if other KC firms (Stinson, Husch, etc.) are raising at all/what their salary scales look like now?

SA at Husch, compensation got brought up during the summer retreat. Partners seemed unaware that Polsinelli and Cave moved, they only laughed about NY.

My guess is Husch will match, but not Stinson.

Bryan Cave didn't match. They moved up to 160k in DC/NYC effective Jan. 1, 2017.
