What does a rejection less than 24 hours of a CB mean? I interviewed with a v10 yesterday and thought it went super well. I previously met with a lot of associates and the managing partner offered me the CB after a networking/screener meeting. I can't help but think the CB wasn't even taken seriously because i was rejected so fast.

did they see your grades before? how are they/what school approx? they don’t waste time doing cbs. either they didn’t like you or they didn’t like your grades/school

Yes, after my screener I sent my resume and transcript to the partner and got the callback scheduled. Grades are3.5 at Vandy (we don't rank)

Assuming this is NYC it’s probably your grades/school; 3.5 from vandy seems like it would be a reach for any of the NY V10s based on my experience. but you maybe rubbed someone the wrong way. Either way, don’t let it keep you from shooting your shot and grinding for other offers. If they didn’t want to offer you, you probably wouldn’t have enjoyed working there anyway

tons of offers have gone out today in NYC, just about every typical pre-oci firm you can think of in the V20

All it means is this: their hiring committee meet after your CB, they decided "no", and they have the curtesy of telling you quickly as opposed to stringing you along for weeks unlike some other firms.

Yeah, it sucks, but how much worse would it be if you spent the next two weeks will-they-or-won't-they-ing?

Right there with ya. I've given up hope.

I've really liked them at every stage of the process, but kinda annoyed that they're stringing us along now. Just reject us already.

My school doesn’t report offer range but I’m above the 75th callback gpa range for pretty much every NYC firm at a T14. Guess I just don’t do callbacks very well.

Top 20% at a T6 (so yes). 80%+ of CBs during OCI turn into offers at STB from my school.

Kind of surprised. I generally interview well and thought that my CB went fine. Already have an offer from elsewhere and have other CBs coming down the pike, but quite disappointed. I like the firm.

Got an email from DC lit boutique saying they would start looking at applications in August.
