No, OCS told us not to double dip. Not to say it isn't allowed, but if you already interviewed, they already have a file on you. It would be better to just follow up there, then try and restart the whole process via online application.Anonymous User wrote:Should you apply online to a firm you already interviewed with at OCI but actually would love to work at or is that not allowed?

Has anyone heard from: Orrick (DC), Sidley (DC), MoFo (DC), or Hogan Lovells (DC)?
Beginning to wonder if it’s time to follow-up. Also, if following up, should you email recruiting or your OCI interviewer?

I think I've read here that Sidley has gotten back to people? I'm wondering about Hogan Lovells too! I figure I've been dinged, but everyone I know has heard nothing?Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard from: Orrick (DC), Sidley (DC), MoFo (DC), or Hogan Lovells (DC)?

MoFo and Orrick have sent out CBs. Email recruiting unless you previously had some relationship with the attorney, the attorney’s only job would have been to forward who they think should get cbs.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard from: Orrick (DC), Sidley (DC), MoFo (DC), or Hogan Lovells (DC)?

How likely is it that we hear back post-CBs over the weekend? Did people hear back after screeners on the weekend last week?

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
If in your hypothetical the person said "I'm interested in REITs but I'm flexible to explore other areas" would that change things?Anonymous User wrote:I did OCI at Georgetown for our DC office this year. Callback decisions are hard. Even if you have a stellar resume and your interview skills are A+, you may not be getting a callback for reasons mostly out of your control. Especially for the smaller offices, callback decisions (at least at our firm) are influenced by the needs of the office, and where we think the practice-area demand might be. If you say you want to do REIT work, and we have three lawyers in a 150-lawyer office that do REIT work, you're probably not getting a callback - even if I think you're an absolute rockstar. These numbers + practice area are hypothetical; want to stay anon for obvious reasons.
I can't speak for all OCI interviewers - some may care about different things and have different directions from their hiring committees. I just wanted to share my two cents from the other side, though it might feel like empty consolation to those who feel like they've struck out. I met a lot of great people at Georgetown and honestly wish I could've called most of them back.

Re: Georgetown OCI 2019
Not the quoted poster but this is my two cents.
When I hear something like that, I hear “I don’t mind working in other areas but I will go to the firm that lets me do REIT.” And it makes me not want to proceed with you unless I am a REIT guy in need of help and/or someone told me to look for REIT guys.
Don’t say you will do anything or have no preference either.
Keep it super general. I just want to do transactional type of work, putting the puzzle pieces together or something like that.

I wish OCS had told me this before OCI. I came to law school for a relatively small regulatory practice. Didn't have much luck in DC this summer even though my grades are fine for most places that I applied.Anonymous User wrote:I did OCI at Georgetown for our DC office this year.
