Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Does not getting any callbacks so far when some people have already gotten them simply mean that I'm not one of the top favorites of the firms I met, or does it mean I can kiss the chances of any callbacks with these firms goodbye?
Meaning people have already started getting Paul Weiss callbacks for example, but not me, so does it mean I've been dinged by Paul Weiss?

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
I think it varies firm to firm, but, for example, I got a callback today from a firm I interviewed with yesterday, but I know they started giving out callbacks yesterday. So I don't think it means you were definitely dinged.Anonymous User wrote:Does not getting any callbacks so far when some people have already gotten them simply mean that I'm not one of the top favorites of the firms I met, or does it mean I can kiss the chances of any callbacks with these firms goodbye?

Interviewer left voicemail callback telling me to schedule the CB with recruiting. Should I send the interviewer a thank you email?

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Nobody can give you a sure answer to this. For most firms, unless you interviewed with a different/satellite office, not hearing from a firm after others have begun to hear back is most generally a sign that youve been dinged. There is just leas priority in sending out rejections, which generally come out in a wave after a week or so.Anonymous User wrote:Does not getting any callbacks so far when some people have already gotten them simply mean that I'm not one of the top favorites of the firms I met, or does it mean I can kiss the chances of any callbacks with these firms goodbye?

Definitely agree with this. I did callbacks with both NY and CA firms. I scheduled NY CBs to start on the Thursday/Friday after EIP ended through the following week. That way I could fly out to CA at the end of the week after EIP - essentially like two weeks from where you guys are in the process right now. If you're not interviewing with any NY firms then definitely ASAP. But don't worry if due to NY callbacks the earliest you can schedule a CA callback isn't until late August or something.
If you're interviewing in both Northern CA and Southern CA things are a little bit more hectic trying to avoid flying back and forth between the two parts of the state. But even after you initially schedule your CB time it's usually fairly easy to adjust the date/time and firms seemed good about understanding if you need to change it.

Did NY/LA/SF too. Did one week and weekend ny, then a week of CA, then back to NY. I got very lucky having one firm each day in CA.pa1901 wrote:Tiago Splitter wrote:Still ASAP but understandable if you want to wait a few days to try and schedule them all on one trip.
