Is this carrot, or stick? It seemed easier than creating a BoiseBabyBoise alt just for the joke.

My sources tell me that compensation will be by hour you bill and when you enter in your time at the end of the day, the cash just comes out of your computer.

Great job on Bush v. Gore. At least John Quinn just loses patent infringement cases. You lost the frickin presidency of the United States. GTFO, loser.

For all we know Jones Day has already raised salaries to 190k but we will never find out because they are a BLACK BOX OF COMPENSATION

To whoever said Jones Day may already be at 190, that is a total lie. First year comp isn't black box. Also "black box" basically means you get the lockstep salary without any bonus (or maybe some token amount e.g. 175 for second year). If they were to raise first year to 190k, I would imagine it wouldn't necessarily trickle up to mid-levels, bc they are supposedly paid by merit.

Are you dumb? Because you sound dumb. Black box means black box. Over a million per year for real super star first year associates could happen, but there is no way to know if it wasn't you. That is the black box. It is a mystery.

Guys in my high school made well above market first year at Jones Day all the time. It was no big deal.

Relative who is partner at a firm on the west coast that pays market told me today that salaries are going up. They wouldn't say more at this time.
