Bringing a suit to work in the morning? Not odd at all. Going to the office at night for the sole purpose of hanging your suit? Pretty fucking odd.
Your instincts are all messed up. For the rest of the summer, I suggest pulling a George Costanza: always do the opposite of what your gut tells you to do.
I appreciate your fantastic answer to my ridiculous question

We weren't told to avoid drunkenly hooking up with other SAs/Associates/Partners, TCR is that it's perfectly okay, right?

Let's not flatter ourselves; dope dealers make way more than we do, if they've got points on the package. Also they work hard. Dat risk man.

That sucks. Here I am shitfaced again on day 2 and was told I won't have an assignment until Thursday at the earliest because the firm wants us to focus on training and socializing to meet the attorneys and bond with the other summers. Literally billed 8 hours to the firm today with the billing note "Socializing."
Hope your experience gets better.

We haven't even learned how to bill time yet. Been nothing but meeting attorneys/other summers and non-stop training. Billing training seminar is Thursday and first assignment should be available Friday

I love this job. Own office with a view of the water, haven't had to cook or pay for a meal in two days, 9-5 hours more or less, and actually really pleasant people.

Accidentally pushed the wrong floor while on the elevator with a partner. Immediately pushed the correct floor, and he gave me a weird look when I didn't get off at the initial floor that I pushed. No offer?
Real talk tho, first 2 days have been awesome. Best job ever

If this is NYC, you get one no questions asked deferral. So you could just push it back 6 months.
Or if you do go, based on my experience, the lawyers will have zero desire to put a law student on their jury, and you should get out of there in a day, two max.

The same thing happened to me last summer. I deferred, but still ended up eventually having to go while I was working a couple months later (not NY, so if you can defer six months, do it). Also thought there was no way I'd get picked as a law student, couldn't have been more wrong. Both sides were ecstatic that I didn't have to go back to school before the trial (and I'm not even shitting you). Trial was only three days, and the firm was totally cool about it.

Do we need to bring a bluebook? I left mine at school (opposite coast) and thinking about express ordering another one if I need it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
