I think so. Last year they called to offer and said to call back to confirm if I could make it. Reasons would be to provide you with a nametag and get a headcount.

Hrm. 0 callbacks, 0 dings, and the end of week one is quickly approaching. I am trying not to get worried yet, but if I assume that everyplace I haven't heard back from yet is a ding (especially the NYC ones), then I have several more dings than I have fingers, and I am slowly approaching fingers + toes.

Will not attending the dinner if I have other (non-rescheduleable) plans hurt me?

If you'd rather not, just try to stay calm. Career services does mock interviews during the week. Talk to them. Do mock interviews with friends. Think over your answers and read the advice in the OCI alums thread.

That has got to be a mistake...

EDIT: This is in response to the pre-OCI Mayer ding, not the post directly above this!
To clarify, I got the email ding after the interview, but it contained a scanned letter dated two days prior to the interview.

And no, I've done well apart from Mayer, so I don't think it's anything on the resume!

You should go unless your un-rescheduleable plans involve being out of town or another firm. At the very least, make sure you call them back to give your regrets personally.
