Does anyone have a general idea of what the timetable is for most DC firms offering 1L positions?

I applied to most of the DC firms at the beginning of January and followed-up with my transcript about two weeks ago. I've heard back from maybe half (~30) that they aren't hiring, have already hired, etc. But there still are roughly 30 firms that I have not heard from. I am just wondering what the time frame is for this process.

Wondering the same thing. I applied to 30 or so and have only heard back from a few.

Not DC but I've applied to over 150+ places and got rejections to about half, responses to about 10%, and the other 40% or so was silence. I think some firms or offices just don't respond.

I have like 5 1LSA Screeners in a secondary Midwestern market next week.

Do any of you guys who have been through this have any suggestions? They would be much appreciated.

I just had a similar experience, so I'll share my thoughts . If it's a market you obviously have ties to, expect it to be very conversational. There will probably just be a couple of basic questions about how you're enjoying law school, if you have a specific area of law you're interested in, etc.

If you don't have obvious ties, expect to sell your interest in that market basically the entire time.

+1 to all above. They're very relaxed, and, in my market at least, not at all the "impress me" types. Go in knowing that they want to like you, don't over think things, and, as cliche as it is, be yourself.

Anyone have any idea what the mid-large firms expect out of us 1L's...and if it is any different from 2L SA expectations? I'm fairly confident I could go into a 1L SA and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing or suppose to be doing.

Thanks guys! It is the city my LS is in, and I have tenuous ties to the city, decent ones to the state. I am not expecting too much. At worst, it is practice for 2L OCI!

Although wearing a suit everyday next week is going to be a bitch, as much as I will enjoy the humble brag. First world problems though I guess!
