It's probably too late to have biglaw applications sent out by next weekend, right?
On a related note, does anyone know of some high-quality resume or cover letter editing services? I know ResumeLaunchpad has one, I'm just not sure how good it is...

Should my transcript be attached when mass mailing? My gpa is not stellar and I already have my gpa on my resume.

50 more mailings sent out today... Gah, it's like an exercise in patience and futility.

I guess my question is, do you just come right out and say, "I am writing to obtain an interview at X" or is it more flowery/polite/politically correct than that?

I say I am writing to apply for a summer associate position. If they have nothing listed on their website (sometimes this occurs with small firms), I say I am writing to inquire about a summer associate positionAVBucks4239 wrote:I guess my question is, do you just come right out and say, "I am writing to obtain an interview at X" or is it more flowery/polite/politically correct than that?

What quality of paper is TCR for resumes, writing samples etc. that one brings to screeners or callbacks. Resume-weight, I'm guessing? Or resume-weight for resumes and normal but good quality paper for writing samples and transcript copies?

Re: Summer 2013 Non-OCI Job Hunt (Mass Mail, Job Fairs, etc)
Just got a call from Fulbright & Jaworski's Dallas office wanting to schedule a callback. I sent my stuff to them two weeks ago. This is the first positive response I've had thus far. I sent stuff to 30 or so Texas firms. Is a callback through mass mail on the same level as a callback resulting from a screening interview during OCI? In other words, is there a decent chance an offer could result or are these treated more as screening interviews? TIA

Finally got an interview from a mass mailing, albeit in a tertiary market, but hey beggars can't be choosers. Still pretty psyched.

I sure hope it's not too late. I sent out a batch of 90 or so yesterday and am sending another batch today. :-/Anonymous User wrote:It's probably too late to have biglaw applications sent out by next weekend, right?

Just finished my first callback that I got from mailing. Is it TCR to write a thank you letter to each interviewer or just to the coordinator? And is email fine for that?

I am interested in this as well. Did a CB with 7+ attorneys. Should I send them all thank you emails?Anonymous User wrote:Just finished my first callback that I got from mailing. Is it TCR to write a thank you letter to each interviewer or just to the coordinator? And is email fine for that?

I did that for each callback I had as a 1L. Got offers from both places so it worked.Anonymous User wrote:I am interested in this as well. Did a CB with 7+ attorneys. You're aware that correlation is not the same as causation, right?Anonymous User wrote:I did that for each callback I had as a 1L. Yes, write a thank-you email to the interviewers. Why wouldn't you? No one is going to think "that little sonofabitch, how dare he write me a thank-you email, I'm not going to hire him now!" It's just good manners, and it may help or it may not, but it won't hurt.

When writing thank you's - should you address them by first name, or by Mr./Ms.?

I'm going to ask this here because it's pointless to make a new thread, but if you get invited to dinner by a firm (separate from a CB), you shouldn't wear a suit, right? Sorry I'm totally neurotic.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
