Would like to know also. Afternoon CB yesterday, haven't heard anything yet. I would guess they don't make every offer on the same day though.
anybody?
I'm the one who wrote that I got a call a couple hours after my interviews. I got the feeling from several comments they made that they don't do that for every offer, so I wouldn't lose hope yet.
I know two people who went there for a CB, one got same day offer, the other hasnt heard - wonder what that means? maybe there is a "maybe pile"? after all, it is early in the process...

Did the one who got the same day offer have very impressive stats or something? Maybe they go into some interviews planning on accepting certain people barring horrible social skills, and others require a more thorough evaluation

Well I'm top 10% from MVP and haven't heard back yet (interviewed last last week, previously posted anon in this thread). I thought my interviews went well, but I guess you can never be sure.

I had a CB last Tuesday and haven't heard yet (Cahill), expecting a rejection tomorrow in the mail but if I don't get it I assume this is kind of a waitlist.

T25 top 5%. Still waiting from Cahill too. Interview over a week ago. Thought the interview went really well. Guess they have a really low callback to offer rate this year.

They did give a lot of CBs...I'm giving it a low percentage but not ruling it out until we get those rejection letters.

Were most of these Cahill callbacks after an OCI screener, or were these the mass-mail type

Mass mail. They don't do OCI at a few top schools and the firm is doing really well, so it makes sense why'd they'd give so many non-OCI callbacks.

Callback-style interview with Hahn & Hessen today went really well. Seward & Kissel screener tomorrow. Just got a call to set up interview with Pepper Hamilton as well. I'm running out of days to schedule these mass-mail interviews before school starts.

East Coast T20 attendee - mass mailed a V100 firm in California about three weeks ago. I noted that I applied to the DC office through OCI, but that I'm a California native and I'm most interested in the West Coast office. I said I'd be in California and available for interviews last week.

Now today California inquires whether I got an interview through OCI, to which the answer is no. They respond that they'd "love to sit down with me" and ask when I'm going to be in their city. I just came back to the East Coast yesterday.

I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to respond (besides the obvious, umm, I was there last week like I told you I'd be ...). I don't exactly have the $ to spring for an interview if it's not reimbursed. Is this an incredibly polite rejection? If not, how do I respond succinctly conveying that I am incredibly interested and would like to be given a screener/paid CB like a normal person?

I would just be honest about your predicament. Tell them that you're still very interested in the firm and would love to be interviewed but that you were just in California last week and can't really spring the money to fly out again. I would think they would be understanding considering most lawyers were poor law students themselves at some point. Then just go from there. Maybe they offer to pay to fly you out, maybe they don't. if they don't, maybe reevaluate all your options and consider how much you really want to be at that firm specifically and then perhaps bite the bullet and fly out again on your own dime.

Applied a few weeks ago to Skadden LA. Received a rejection letter in the mail this week (not surprised). Best part? They spelled my name wrong in the letter and on the envelope. (Not a hard name to spell.)

I sent out about 30 mass mail resumes on July 15 (via e-mail) and received my first interview invitation nearly a month later from a mid-size firm. Haven't heard back from most, and received about 6 dings via snail mail.

Stats: T25, Top 30%, Secondary Journal, no w/e

Wilmerhale screener through resume collect, T25 top 10%. Do you think it's worth flying out to interview there if I can line up maybe 4 other screeners? Have ties.

Won't they pay for it? I thought most big firms follow the NALP form for reimbursement.

I'm not the WH AU, but I don't think they do for screeners. Certainly not the standard.

Person on the phone specifically stated that because it's a screener, they don't need to reimburse (or at least they'd very much prefer I do not travel just to see them).
