Disagree. Fish will have to follow somewhat soon because of competition (for example, with Kirkland). They may take a bit longer because ALL of their associates are paid on the same scale regardless of what office they are in/geography, but I think you will see it within the next 2 weeks or so.

I have it on good authority that Dechert just joined the 180 club...and it was apparently inspired by a combination of ATL's coverage and the string of recruiters who reached out to associates to jump ship.

We are still paid less than associates 9 years ago in real dollars, and as pointed out earlier this can just come out of PPP and not client bills. I know the world doesn't cry for poor biglawyers (it shouldn't) but fuck you BofA GC for shitting on the people who have the least power and the most debt in this profession.

First years are still likely making less in nominal dollars, given the $40K+ bonuses that were given out in 2007.

I would think so. The discrepancy would hurt them too much. The main question is whether this does anything for Philly outside Dechert and ML, and I guess as a secondary matter DE.

This statement is ridiculous for more than one reason. First, the highest paying firm is Reed Smith at $145k, which they just upped like last year. Second, ML's Pittsburgh office is small, which would not warrant an increase in salary. Third, Pittsburgh is a TTT city with one of the lowest COL. IMO, the associates at biglaw satellite offices there are overpaid as it is.

Business as usual at FF. However, they're currently building a cage around our office building in NY, so I think people were happy that they weren't just going to padlock us in.
