My experience is oddly enough exactly the same as yours (5+1). There’s a million variables, but I think if you’ve been interviewing well enough to get that many CBs in this apparently very weird/difficult cycle, then the chances are you’ll land at least one offer. You’re crushing it; hang in there!!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:04 pmchances of an offer with 5 OCI CBs and 1 CB outside of OCI (ghosted but recently got an update that I am still pending)...i know it varies just feeling spent and hoping something comes out of this..any ideas?

Anyone have insight into when after a callback to expect an offer? I had a few callbacks this week and haven't heard anything. Starting to get a little worried.

Any advice on turning a callback into an offer? I have a few more callbacks next week and I feel like my approach so far hasn't led to any success.

Anecdotally, I got 5 OCI CBs and have an offer. I think the fact that you landed 5 CBs means you interviewed well and will likely interview well enough at your CBs to get at least one offer. Be confident and you'll be fine!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 2:09 pmMy experience is oddly enough exactly the same as yours (5+1). Not at GULC, but can offer a datapoint. I had my Proskauer callback Wednesday 1/20. Got my offer yesterday evening. Definitely seems to be taking longer than other NYC firms to get back to people.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 1:27 pmTimeline after Proskauer NYC CB? Does anyone know how long it typically takes to hear back?

First, I know it’s difficult but try to be patient. Offers can take weeks to come in as firms make them to others and wait up to two weeks to hear back only to have them decline. It’s going to take a while for the dust to settle.
Second, look for anything at all that truly distinguishes that firm from the others and use that in your interview. Remember, it doesn’t have to be distinguishable from all other firms, just the ones you’re interviewing with. Lean on any one-on-one chats you had with someone there. If you have something in your personal history that sincerely explains your interest in a practice group and that firm is notably strong in that area, use that. Firms want to make offers to people they enjoy speaking with and who appear to truly, genuinely want to be there.
Finally, if any of the firms is one where you know you’d be very happy to accept an offer and would do so immediately at the expense of the other irons in the fire, find a way to work that into the conversation. Being a “sure thing” to them can only help.
Congrats on having multiple bites at the apple!

First of all, thank you for being so sincere and clear in your answer. I genuinely appreciate your advice. I have one question as to your first point. Do firms often leave people in the dark as they wait to hear from other people? AKA does no news mean you are still alive?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 6:24 pmAnonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 3:18 pmAny advice on turning a callback into an offer? I’m sure it’s firm dependent. Someone else can correct me, but I’m pretty certain that ghosting is much rarer post-CB than it is post-screener. So, as a general rule, silence means you’re still alive at least for the first 2-3 weeks.
You can certainly email to express continued interest if you’d like. But that email will probably be most effective if you are writing to tell them you’ve have another offer and it expires on X date but you’d prefer to accept an offer from them, OR to simply tell them you’d accept immediately if fortunate to earn an offer.
