Anyone hear back from Milbank NY after their callback?
Yes, I heard the next day, but that probably had to do with when the hiring committee meets. It meets on Friday, fwtw.

Current HLS 1L going through 1L summer interviews (and SIP) atm. I'd rather not reveal who I am, so I'm posting anonymously.

Reading this thread is sobering. It looks like lots of 2Ls are struggling to get offers at EIP.

For those of you who have struggled, would you say there is any common reason why? For example, are you gunning for competitive practice areas, like lit, in competitive markets, like DC? If that's the case, then I'm not surprised that it's hard to get offers, especially this year.

Or are some 2Ls, who are gunning for less competitive practice areas, like corp, in less competitive markets, like NY, also struggling to get offers?

Also, what percentage of your 2L classmates and friends (not on TLS) would you say have received offers at this point?

Thanks for keeping us all updated, and best of luck with callbacks and remaining interviews.

2L at H. I know people well below median who got offers, I know people slightly above median who got multiple great offers (including at well regarded firms in competitive markets like DC and LA), I know people substantially above median that are inundated with offers. I dont actually know anyone IRL that doestn have any offers. Having too many offers to choose from seems to be more of a problem.

(I do think being a good interviewer mattered more this year, since there were less common grades to discriminate on. But I know some pretty substandard interviewers that also got offers).

2L here - I would not rely on extrapolating from posts here. Think about the type of people who visit & post in these forums. Not to mention that there is no indication that there are many unique users. There are over 300 people who participate in EIP - do you actually think there are 300 unique posters here?

Is the market more competitive this year? Yes. But I would say the large majority (I'm talking 95%+) of the class have offers they are happy with.

Every year there are some people who struggle due to the following: 1) poor bidding (e.g. going all in in DC or CA w/o grades, ties, etc); 2) poor interviewing; or 3) a bit of 1+2. Unfortunately, people who fall in these categories had a harder time at EIP than under normal circumstances.

2L at H as well. All Ps 1L Fall -> 6 offers, 2 from V10. NY market. Told firms I was interested in white collar.
I think some markets are just slow at responding (e.g. Boston), and I assume CA/DC are more competitive. Don't worry too much - but I do think being a good interviewer can make a difference.

Boston friends! I just got an offer (my one and only) with a firm I interviewed with 2 weeks ago (they said they just finished all callbacks today and didn't want to extend before that). Hopefully there will be more movement between today and tomorrow, and more so into next week. Goodluck!

You are a blessing, would you be willing to drop any hint on what firm it is?
