Nope, still go ham and wide. I will say that there has been a significant pickup in 3L hires who traded up dozens of Vault spots so the important thing will be that you land an SA anywhere.Anonymous User wrote:Any advice on mass mailing? Are we supposed to be reporting to OCS when we hear from firms? I would be happy to do so if it'd give other students peace of mind but I didn't know OCS was asking.Anonymous User wrote:Spoke to OCS and they said strangely enough that no one has reported hearing from Goodwin NY yet

They do like to hear so they can convey when someone asks about a particular firm, but it's not necessary for everyone to report everything.Anonymous User wrote:Are we supposed to be reporting to OCS when we hear from firms? Where did you hear this? A recent post in the 3L OCI thread (also on the front page) says that 3L OCI seems dead this year.Single-Malt-Liquor wrote:Nope, still go ham and wide. There's a callbacks table outside the ballroom where you can report and ask about callbacks by firm, location, and interviewer initials. They already knew about most of mine but I'd report any you get today.

Re: HLS EIP 2016
This is probably not helpful, but I saw in the Georgetown thread that they just started making callbacks there this morning. Their Paul Weiss timeline was the same as ours, so maybe this is non-coincidental.Anonymous User wrote:Any info about W&C?
I haven't heard anything about them personally or from any of my friends who were interested.

Is it standard for OCS to recommend declining "excess" callbacks? It seems like weird advice—and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the (anecdotally) lower-than-expected EIP results.

It's always been normal advice. Frankly if you have a strong offer in hand, it is just common courtesy to decline interviews from employers you have no intention of working for.Anonymous User wrote:Is it standard for OCS to recommend declining "excess" callbacks? Sure if you really had no intention of working for the employer. But I would think spending a day in an office to determine fit and culture would be a pretty important factor in one's ultimate employment decision.Anonymous User wrote:It's always been normal advice. Did anyone else who got an invite to the Gibson dinner not get a CB?

Most of the 3L spots get filled well after 3L OCI as firms figure out their needs.Anonymous User wrote:Where did you hear this? To be more clear, part of the problem with OCI being so early in the summer is that the outgoing 2Ls havnt even finished making decisions and reporting to their firm. Still, some that accept will change their mind at some point before they start 1.2 years later.
