Do firms usually send out dings for screeners? Or should we just assume no CB after a couple days is pretty much a rejection?

NYC firms generally send ding letters/emails within a week of the screener. don't know for other markets.

If you are doing NY and get through this week with 0 or 1 I would consider re-tailoring your interview strategy for next week, especially because the heavy hitters are mostly coming next week. If you end up with 2-4, you are probably about average and can breath easy but don't mail it in.

If an interviewer sends out cbs and you don't get one, is it reasonable to assume you're dinged? I bid mostly NY.

"reasonable" is a loaded word.

employers engage in yield protection as schools do. they may be waiting to see how things unfold. they may have been unable to call you today.

sit tight. you're fishing in the biggest employment pond.

Yes unfortunately. Last year that was the case in all except one instance where an interviewer did some CBs in the evening then finished up in the morning. I literally knew of zero instances of someone getting a NY OCI CB 2 or more days after the screeners.

E- I don't disagree with the poster above me and certainly don't want to incite panic because it's waaaaayyyy too early for that, just trying to help you manage expectations. It's certainly possible for a call to come later just remote.

stop it, you're scaring the 2Ls.

2Ls should wait at least 48 hours before panicking. some firms are slower than others and some nyc firms do two waves of callbacks. it varies depending on the size of the firm and how many spots they have left. you're not even done with week 1. it's too early to worry about no callbacks.

They asked and said I'd receive an email, but I haven't gotten it yet.
