O'Melveny. And I wonder if this means definite callback or if they have giving-offer power.
Anon from above, I meant the actual people interviewing.
No callbacks were given at OMM dinner

More OMM dinner deets: Associates made clear that callback decisions will be made by the hiring committees at each office, not the interviewers who came here. No certain timeline for when CBs come out.

I was invited to some Cravath reception after stopping by the hospitality suite. Does anyone know what's up with this? didn't have a screener.

It's my understanding that most CBs will occur in September.

Yep this is true, however the earlier you schedule it the earlier you can get an offer and they only have so much space. Probably only a marginal difference

Aware it varies firm-to-firm, but is there a general convention (even if speculative) regarding callback odds? (i.e. most firms call-back two candidates for every one SA slot, etc.)

http://www.nalp.org/uploads/Perspective ... ec2013.pdf

page 19 has an interesting table. looks like nationwide its been about 48% CB->Offer, but they have it broken down by region and firm size as well. Looks like generally the bigger the firm and the bigger the market the higher the %.

Some old data from Columbia shows a pretty positive outlook for the V10 in particular. No idea if its still like this or not though...

Is there anything to a firm saying "we'll be in touch soon for sure" after an interview goes really well or is that just something that would be said either way?

I'm too lazy to dig it up, but somewhere in this forum there's a whole thread of people recounting stories of stronger positive statements than that leading to a ding.

It's awesome that your interview went well, but I wouldn't read too much into what the firm said. It could mean so many things, the interviewer could have been tired or on autopilot. Take a deep breath and wait till you know for sure.

Looked like everyone who had a screener or dropped off their resume in the suite was invited.

It was fun but anyone who thought that it was anything more than a good evening and a way for Cravath to build goodwill at NU is kidding themselves. They said as much multiple times.

LOL at Cravath thinking they need to build goodwill. You could literally drop a steaming turd in midtown Manhattan, and as long as it made the V5 we'd still bid on it.

Still, regretting not dropping my resume to get an invite. Sounds sweet.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
