I wouldn't do it right now. Maybe after a couple weeks it works be worth it to get your application looked at again.

Already starting to get a small flow of rejection letters. That means it's working (I think)!

Re: Reminder: Stop reading tea leaves; Start Mass Mailing
Hey all. 3.31 at CLS/NYU. I've already mailed all of NYC, Chicago (ties), the secondary/tertiary markets near where I grew up, NJ/Connecticut (since they're close to my school), and Delaware (I'm heavily leaning toward corporate and have a background that screams corporate). Total of around 150 sent
Where are the next places I should look? I was thinking SF/SV but I have no ties west of the Mississippi, and DC, but I have medianish grades which seems a little weak for them. Also thought of TX but I have no ties there (though I did work on one energy-related project during my summer job).
Thanks!

Re: Reminder: Stop reading tea leaves; Start Mass Mailing
Finally started mailing last week, got two callbacks already and it's a pain in the ass scheduling them around OCI. Wish I had started this a month ago, but TBH I was using every bit of free time after work figuring out my OCI bid list. 1L summer is packed AF.

Would people getting CBs be willing to post more details like school/rank and what market/type of market they're in?

So is reaching out to a partner to get information about the firm, after you've mailed them, a good idea?

Penn, above median, non-Philly secondary market. Two callbacks from first week of mailing.Anonymous User wrote:Would people getting CBs be willing to post more details like school/rank and what market/type of market they're in?

Worth a shot. Aim it at alums, if possible.

You must be missing some NYC and Chicago firms. I have almost 150 from just NYC.

Oh wow, I have about 75 for NY plus 20 or so that I'm interviewing with at OCIAnonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Hey all. 3.31 at CLS/NYU. ETA: this excludes firms that have no summer class, and those that are PI only. otherwise my list is more like 160 just from NALP and a few more

Re: Reminder: Stop reading tea leaves; Start Mass Mailing
Just got a callback from a Chicago biglaw firm that isn't coming to my OCI. MVP. 1L SA. Below Median. Decent WE. Heavy ties to Chicago.
Also have a few screeners lined up.
Mass mailing works, guys.

Re: Reminder: Stop reading tea leaves; Start Mass Mailing
Just got an interview in LA. Have to fly in at my own expense, which sucks (go to school in the midwest), but I already had a pending "let us know when you're in the area" from another firm which I hope will allow me to get in 2 in-office interviews in one day. I also have a paid CB in SF (from a mass-mail phone screener) which I'm going to try to schedule the next day so hopefully I can get away with only paying one leg of the flight and one hotel night. I've had the most success from mass-mailing in California and Texas, even though I don't have ties to either state.

remember - many firms don't even open anything till august 1. that's not an excuse to not have started till now, but it's not a huge deal that you haven't heard yet. That said, keep mailingAnonymous User wrote:120 apps and not even an single interview.....losing hope.

Similar situation... Don't lose hope, just keep sending and start looking at other markets.Anonymous User wrote:120 apps and not even an single interview.....losing hope.

Re: Reminder: TLSers (You) are aspie; Start Mass Mailing
Tried to send personalized emails for the past two weeks. Took too long. Finally broke down and did resumelaunchpad- 310 emails in 30min.
Also, I realized I was referring to my school by the wrong name. That was lovely.
Question- do smaller firms look at applications quicker? Trying to decide if I should mass mail the small firms as well right now. I only did large firms on resumepaunchpad.

Re: Reminder: TLSers (You) are aspie; Start Mass Mailing
small firms just don't adhere to the same timeline as big firms. Some have the same schedule, others have already started, and some won't even look at things until the end of the year. Best bet is to just mail, baby, mailbsktbll28082 wrote:Tried to send personalized emails for the past two weeks. Took too long. Finally broke down and did resumelaunchpad- 310 emails in 30min.

I get responses from firms, but so far it's just been 'Please apply online.'

Same, its been frustrating. Just got one asking which offices interest me with a list of their offices. Not sure how to approach this though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
