the 2 interviews i heard this language, crickets. all my CBs, no such language. fwiw

I haven't found this to be the case at all.
Same. As an interviewer for my pre-law-school job, I usually had a scripted patter that I would say to candidates at the end of an interview. I wouldn't read into it too much.

If you're offered a callback during the interview, how long should you wait before contacting the firm?

Yeah I have received call backs from firms that I actually crossed off of my list because I thought the interview went so horribly there was not any reason to hold out hope. However, I have received a couple "Expect to hear from me very soon" - which gives me confidence, but no rejections or callbacks yet from these firms.

I called Willkie tonight and left a message giving them my name, school, and date available. (I'm assuming that's what you're referencing)
