Do wear a tie, do not think this means bowtie
Do act professional at all times, do not think this only applies during the allocated time and with your interviewer
Do be polite and friendly, do not joke about the name of the firm or the interviewer

This is extremely credited. Especially at callbacks, I have heard stories where the partners ask the receptionist, secretaries, and anyone who talked to the candidate what they thought. From the time you are within 10 feet of the office and in your car leaving, be "on".dingbat wrote:Do shower, do not wear excessive deodorantgaud wrote:two interviews next week.

I'm also serious about joking about the firm's name. I know of someone who interviewed with Fried Frank only to be told they're not a hot dog vendor (it's pronounced "freed")goldeneye wrote:This is extremely credited. Got a job in the bag, and can now go BEAST MODE on my classes.
How is doing indigent civil legal aid (i.e. DV, immigration, family law) for 1L summer seen by DA's offices? The legal aid org. is in the same city that my preferred DA's office is in.

I'd have to imagine that showing an interest in some form of PI is a plus for a DA's office.PinkLotus wrote:Got a job in the bag, and can now go BEAST MODE on my classes.![]()

No, I've been waiting to hear back. I got a confirmation email after applying, but I'm not even sure they received my grades update. Have you heard back / did they give you a confirmation for your grades update?Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone interviewed with Google's legal department?

Yeah, I heard back but it was a month after I applied. I haven't sent in my grades and they haven't yet asked for them. Their interview format is 'interesting' so I wanted to know if any one else had been through the process already.Anonymous User wrote:No, I've been waiting to hear back. T20. Although, I don't think it's about the grades/school. I have some work experience that is very relevant to the particular team I am interviewing with.Anonymous User wrote:school range? grade range?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I heard back but it was a month after I applied. Did you just submit the app online? It seemed general, not specific to a department.

Yup, Google only had a general online application. But my WE really screams one particular area so I'm assuming my application got pulled from a common pool.Anonymous User wrote:Did you just submit the app online? It seemed general, not specific to a department.

Is anyone here applying for outside sources of summer funding for PI work? What kind of grades are needed for EJW Summer Corps? Already got a position with a non-profit legal aid org. Is previous AmeriCorps experience looked upon favorably?

No specific info, though you can see the previous year's hires on NALP -- they projected 6 1L's in 2012.Anonymous User wrote:Good luck! Got an offer yesterday for a summer associate position. 10 weeks and paid. Feels good. Still have two interviews next week but my stress levels are way down now.

Congrats! To all people in similar situations, it is easier for the rest of us if you pick one and not hold on to multiple offers for extended periods of time (not saying that you're doing this), but as you "ponder" all your offers the rest of us are waiting!Anonymous User wrote:Got an offer yesterday for a summer associate position. 10 weeks and paid. Hopefully we all find out where we will be in the next few weeks. Anyone heard from Cooley?

Are diversity fellowships geared towards URMs or students of color in general? There isn't exactly a dearth of South Asians in the legal communities I'm targeting, lol.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
