Herrick, Feinstein interview request from mass mailing. Makes 11 mass mail interviews. Of the 5 I went on so far, 2 were regular screeners and 3 were callback-style. The 2 screeners both invited me back to a callback, and one of the callbacks already made me an offer. I feel very lucky so far, and hope it holds up through the OCI process.

Would like to know also. Afternoon CB yesterday, haven't heard anything yet. I would guess they don't make every offer on the same day though.

Top 1% @ T30. Sent out 85 apps and up to five rejections now (Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, Davis Wright Tremaine, Simpson Thacher, Boies Shiller, Quinn Emanuel). I also got a few generic "your resume is being considered" responses. Otherwise, all is quiet.

Indy office? Do you have ties? I get the feeling they aren't hiring much outside OCI, they do like the in state schools a lot, especially the IUs

Responses from mass mail:

Call from felhaber larson in Minneapolis 2 days after email sent, followed by in office interview.
Call from Robins Kaplan in Minneapolis 2 weeks after mailing sent, interview to follow.
Call and phone interview with Des Moines firm 2 days after mail sent.

No reply from Kutak Rock or Baird Holm out of Omaha, Nebraska. No response from from Oppenheimer or Winthrop in Minneapolis. Mails were sent out roughly 2-3 weeks ago.

Did Duane Morris give you a time frame? They told me it would be a while since at least some people on the hiring committee were on vacation -- but to keep them updated.

They said the hiring committee will meet in like 2 weeks when all the OCI programs end and make their decisions around then, so that I can expect a decision in around 3 weeks or so.

I've heard this as well - I'm assuming it's sincere? The wait is just iffy to me, seeing as firms like Cahill have been making offers.

Most firms simply don't operate on such an odd schedule like Cahill. The vast majority of firms like to screen all candidates, gather info on all of them, discuss what they saw, and then make an informed decision knowing they have seen pretty much the entire pool of possibilities. There is nothing really odd or unusual about this. Cahill is the exception, not the rule.

I'm the one who wrote that I got a call a couple hours after my interviews. I got the feeling from several comments they made that they don't do that for every offer, so I wouldn't lose hope yet.
