With A&O it also depends on any work experience prior to law school.dresden doll wrote:Interesting. Did they ask lots of questions about your international experience at the interview?afterglow99 wrote: I assume so yes. I've actually gotten a fair amount of dings from V50-V100 where I thought I would be most competitive.
I'm curious because I'm interviewing with them next week and they're one of my top choices. I'm international myself so I'm hoping there's truth to the rumblings that they love people with foreign backgrounds/experience.

Thanks for the info. Do they favor, as far as you know, candidates who have taken time off to work, period, or are they specifically interested in certain types of WE?Anonymous User wrote: With A&O it also depends on any work experience prior to law school.

From the associates and counsellors I have spoken with, it seems they like people who did take time off after undergrad than those going straight to LS.

It is not entirely necessary though. Callback this morning, straight into law school from undergrad, transfer.Anonymous User wrote:RE: the specific types of WE, I have no clue.dresden doll wrote:Thanks for the info. i'd rather not say exactly where, but they're v20. I'm a stone scholar, but nearer to the bottom of the cuttoff. no law review. I did notice that I was getting a bit more buzz when I started putting my undergrad (decent state school) GPA on my resume (its much better than my law school gpa)Anonymous User wrote:from where? wat are your stats? congratsAnonymous User wrote:wow, just got a callback from a resume drop. didn't think it was possible
I went to the hospitality suite during EIP and dropped my resume off. I talked with a couple of the people there, but I don't remember anything in particular.Anonymous User wrote:interesting! when and how did you do a resume drop? symplicity or snail mail?Anonymous User wrote:wow, just got a callback from a resume drop. didn't think it was possible

In my limited knowledge, a transfer at CLS is treated as top third. Your grades were quite good for A and O then, no? Perhaps WE starts to matter more with borderline candidates.Anonymous User wrote:It's a preference, not a requirement.Anonymous User wrote:It is not entirely necessary though. Anyhow, thanks to both. I go to the other C and will be interviewing with Magic Circle firms this coming week so I've been pretty curious to garner as much information as I possibly can. They were among my top choices because of their love for foreigners.

I heard last year Dewey sent out callbacks via snail mail...that must be a ridiculous feeling opening that thin envelope and then getting a callback!!

I haven't heard back from 5/12 of them. 4 of them were for smaller markets, though. One of them was NYC.
Weird then - I've only heard from 3/11 (I was the anon who asked the Q).
