I keep seeing different things. Are there people who have gone from Screener to CB at Cravath? I see some people go straight to CB. What's the deal?

Where did you hear that re DPW? Or do you just not know many who got offered? I heard they over offered last year so that would make sense though.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:58 pmDPW is being surprisingly picky this year on giving offers to people who got CBs.
STB cb To offer 27 hours for me.

Re: 2023 Pre-OCI Megathread
I personally went straight to callback and the recruiter implied it was because I had attended an on-campus recruiting dinner with them in the spring and had good things to say. If you haven't had any contact with the firm before I wouldn't read into being invited for a screener first.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 10:30 amI keep seeing different things. Re: 2023 Pre-OCI Megathread
Does anyone know if DPW and the firms that just gave out offers are mostly filled up already? My T-14 does not have Pre-OCI, so I just applied last week. Are there still several waves of pre-OCI offers left or have those with offers gotten the sense that the classes are filled up?

Also curious, I have a CB scheduled in two-ish weeks and I'm nervous that a CB doesn't really mean anything from DPW :/Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 4:33 pmDoes anyone know if DPW and the firms that just gave out offers are mostly filled up already? Re: 2023 Pre-OCI Megathread
Are CB to offer ratios dependent on schools? I received a CB from a pre-OCI direct apply at DPW and I'm in top 10% at a regional school, I'm seeing some rejections after CBs but mostly from T14s and other higher-ranked schools. i'm wondering if those rejections are just from people with weaker grades? To what extent is DPW vibe-checking or actually using it as an evaluative measure for non-T14 folks?

Re: 2023 Pre-OCI Megathread
No, students are treating pre-OCI like OCI and are waiting to decide on firms after interviews and offers with multiple firms. Firms are not filled up yet. That being said, it’s better to apply early because there will be a time when firms halt interviews and offers and it’s not clear to anyone (even to the recruiters who manage interviews) when firms will hit their acceptance targets.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 4:33 pmDoes anyone know if DPW and the firms that just gave out offers are mostly filled up already? For anyone who got a Skadden NY callback (or rejection) how long after your screener did it come?

Re: 2023 Pre-OCI Megathread
Is LA just moving super slow? Only firm I've gotten a screener from so far is Milbank who seems to be moving quite quickly. I've heard that OMM has sent an offer out, Latham sent out a few screeners last week I assume to high-high tier candidates (with the rest supposedly coming in the next two weeks), and Kirkland, Skadden, and MoFo have sent out some screeners as well. I haven't heard about any other firms.

Has anyone noticed whether particular practice areas are moving faster than others? I’m wondering whether transactional will move more slowly than litigation given the potential slowdown in that market

NYC transactional has been faster than anything else. If as the slowdown matters, I think it'll mean fewer offers. Not slower onesSirLawrenceWildman wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 12:27 pmHas anyone noticed whether particular practice areas are moving faster than others? Responding to above-post. No screener, straight to R. My GPA is about .15 below their historic average for my (T20) school. I think I applied about two weeks ago? Honestly can’t remember at this point

Weil reject after CB last week. Top 10%+ at a GW/BC/BU/ND/FU with LR, MC, and paralegal WE. Thought interview went great and very conversational, so disappointed with the dong. Already got DPW post-CB dong earlier this week too. Two screeners and two more straight-to-CB scheduled for after the holiday. At peer firms in V20. Just need one.
