Things will probably be slower for a while as they wait to get acceptances and TBNTs from the offers they currently have out. But for now silence means you’re still alive.

Akin DC sent a hold tight email saying to await a response "within the next few weeks." Anyone with an Akin offer to confirm whether this is a WL?

Any rejections for the Wednesday CB crew? I have not heard anything and am holding onto a glimmer of hope.

As we head into a new week, has anyone heard of second waves of offers coming more than a week after a callback at the big DC firms?

As we head into a new week, has anyone heard of second waves of offers coming more than a week after a callback at the big DC firms?

Some firms are still doing initial callback interviews this week. Skadden, Steptoe, Latham, Kirkland just off the top of my head, probably more. It may take another week or two to hear back if you've already done your callback as firms finish their interviews and get answers to offers already made.

A couple running theories are that firms did a lot of pre-OCI activity this year and that summer class sizes are going to be smaller due to Covid uncertainty. A combination of both would make OCI more difficult and slower than usual.

Of course that could be the case nationwide but maybe the effects are exaggerated in DC’s super competitive market?

I am a DC biglaw associate (my firm was mentioned not that far up the thread) without a ton of involvement in recruiting, but I know that my firm did this. We hired early and are also shrinking the summer class size. The number of spots coming out of OCI programs is thus noticeably less. So, I think that we are waiting longer to extend offers - and ultimately extending fewer of them.
