I have one coming up. Can anyone shed some light on the interview? Did they tell you anything about the process (like, are they interviewing 1000 people for one spot, or does getting an interview mean you actually have a reasonable shot, etc)Anonymous User wrote:Did a phone interview a couple weeks ago.Anonymous User wrote:Mine is today.Anonymous User wrote:Anybody heard anything about the NSA? Had CB today. It was a "busy" day with multiple people people interviewing simultaneously and saw skype interviews scheduled for later this week.Anonymous User wrote:Had screener with FTC Bureau of Competition a couple of weeks ago and received callback this evening by email.
It sounds like a quiet FTC year compared to other years...

I was told that conditional offers were hopefully going to be extended sometime in late October. So they should be wrapping up interviews very soon to start scheduling call backs. As far as numbers, it's anyone's guess, I'm sure they have a couple thousand applicants and it isn't unreasonable to assume they maybe interview 5 to 10 percent of the applicants.

No response yet to the app I e-mailed in August. Trying (and mostly failing) to stay patient and optimistic.Anonymous User wrote:Anymore interviews for the DOL?

Re: Government Honors (Non-DOJ) 2016-2017 Cycle
Random question: Can someone tell me whether an arrest record would bar me from passing a background check to work at the DOJ/SEC as an honors intern? The arrest was in another state and the charge was dismissed. Didn't get it expunged yet, but at the time, I sent them a document that essentially exonerated me. A few months ago I did get a DOJ fingerprint response document that reported no incidents. So it didn't even show up on that. But obviously the government will do a more extensive background check. Anyone have, or know someone who has had a similar experience? Thanks.

it won't, as long as you disclosed in your application.Anonymous User wrote:Random question: Can someone tell me whether an arrest record would bar me from passing a background check to work at the DOJ/SEC as an honors intern? Has anyone heard from the FDIC? I only have a little time before I got to respond to another offer, so I'm hoping we hear back soon.

Has anyone heard back from Honors Attorney hiring (entry-level)? I applied to FDIC, SEC, DHS, HUD, DOL, OCC, CIA, CFPB, NRC, OLA, NLRB, FCC, and the FTC. I have heard back from none of them.

Haven't hear back from HUD or DHS. Applied to DOL through OCI and got an interview through that last week.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back from Honors Attorney hiring (entry-level)? Same on FDIC & DHS. I also applied to DOS on the 1st of Sept, and nothing from them. I heard back from OCC day after but only because they had a question about vet status. Had phone interview with NSA.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back from Honors Attorney hiring (entry-level)? I wonder if those of us applying to DOL Honors outside of OCI (e.g. I'm clerking) are on the same timeline or if they just hire a little from both tracks.

Re: Government Honors (Non-DOJ) 2016-2017 Cycle
It's all part of the same hiring process, but (at least the year I applied) they did OCI interviews first, then phone interviews from the mail-in apps. I didn't make it past that part so I honestly can't remember if those were the only interviews or just the first round. I believe my interview was late October? (Heard about it the week or so before.)Anonymous User wrote:I wonder if those of us applying to DOL Honors outside of OCI (e.g. I'm clerking) are on the same timeline or if they just hire a little from both tracks.

Anyone know what type of grades/ranking is needed for DOL? Is it one of those agencies where experience in L&E is more important?

Last year I had my first contact with DHS in the first or second week of October (they do two rounds of interviews) and HUD/FCC near the end of October (both do one round of in person interviews).Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back from Honors Attorney hiring (entry-level)? Not OP, but that is helpful. Seemed from their website that DHS moves slower than the other analogous agencies. Good to have from first hand knowledge. Thanks!globetrotter659 wrote:Last year I had my first contact with DHS in the first or second week of October (they do two rounds of interviews) and HUD/FCC near the end of October (both do one round of in person interviews).Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back from Honors Attorney hiring (entry-level)? This is really anecdotal/limited, but I google-stalked and found some DOL honors attorneys, who mostly seemed to have pretty good to excellent grades at good to excellent schools (not all T14s at all), with lots of L&E experience.

Anyone know when DHS is supposed to notify selectees for interviews? "October" is pretty broad.
