Then send other materials, or send a blank transcript to show what classes you're taking (I did this but I have no reason why I did it, lol1L).buckiguy_sucks wrote:If you're sending out apps on Dec. 1 you have no transcript?

Paying for school credits (which may be a wash in the end I admit) AND taking out extra loans to live off of. WHAT A PRIVILEGEcannibal ox wrote:Working for a judge = working for school credits = paying for school credits = paying for the PRIVILEGE of interning there out of your own pocketbuckiguy_sucks wrote:wtf is thisBigZuck wrote: cuz you likely don't have to pay for the PRIVILEGE of interning there out of your own pocket
At UT at least, judicial internships aren't eligible for school funding so you get a few credits of summer school and take out extra loans to live off of (cuz you're in "summer school" you're eligible to take out extra loans-lulz)
But, if you intern at, like, a DA's office then you're eligible for the 4K summer funding fellowships. It costs like 8K to intern with a judge for an experience that doesn't provide any added benefit. LOLNOPE
(But maybe other schools are different, sounds like this isn't the case at Georgetown. I honestly would have preferred to do a judicial internship but I wasn't going to pay all that extra money to do it)

Use your LRW prof. Mine was happy to give a reference even though i never once spoke with her outside of class.Hand wrote:I've literally had one job in this country before law school, and not went to office hours once, this is going to be great!Gray wrote:Oh yeah references shit

+1. List your LRW prof, even if you didn't get an A in the class. Employers are hiring you to research/write, not because of your mastery of Torts.BmoreOrLess wrote:Use your LRW prof. Cannot speak for every judge, but my chambers will start reviewing apps Dec. 1. We are in a large city, though. May be different for smaller cities/rural areas.Anonymous User wrote:What is the timeline for judicial internships? It is the upmost importance to mail out Dec 1st, or can I wait till finals are over?

you're not getting LORs this isn't like admissions you're just listing a person that employers can call and ask if you're a psychopathLaw1491 wrote:What is a Written Reference? In what way is Written Reference different from LOR?

TBF, usually a job just asks for "references" and a "written reference" could be a LOR - they're uncommon but some judges ask for them. Or it might be asking for a written list of references,
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
