it was helpful for me before oci so that i knew what to expect although it would have been nice to have more info on people who struck out or of people not from t14 schools

This is a ridiculously unrepresentative sample. The people who have posted so far ITT with a few exceptions have fantastic results, many unexpectedly strong (and then there's the top 1% HLS student getting tons of offers, completely expected but I'm not entirely sure who that helps). For every one of these people there are 2-3 who didn't have this success but won't go on tls to post about it here. So as far as "what to expect," I'm skeptical of the value as a reference. It's more a testament to what's possible, with tidbits of advise and narrative.

But was it that necessary to hoard offers? seems like a waste of time for you and the attorneys involved.

Anon here. I think hoarding offers indicates that I collected all these offers and held onto them for shits. For me, after screeners, there were only 2 firms that I was confident I didn't want to go to, and so I cancelled them. For the rest, the CB stage was a time for me to differentiate the firms and check them out as much as they were checking me out. So I wasn't comfortable canceling many CBs, because that was how I got to know the firm and determine that "fit." Once I received offers from firms that I was not going to consider post-CB, I declined within a day. So excuse me if that's "hoard[ing] offers," but for me, it was necessary to the process.

I think it's still early and people who have possibly struck out or not done as well as they liked don't know yet that that's the case, and they are still waiting for an offer or still are willing to mass mail (hence the "too late to mass mail NY" thread). The super strong candidates are the ones that are going to get offers the same day or next day of their CB and have had more time to make their decisions.

+1 to this. I'm grateful for everyone who posts a "normal" outcome. It's not that helpful to see someone with good grades at HYS post their 20 callback offers.

Offers /w vault ranges: 5; Primarily targeted Wilmington and got three offers there. Got a Vault 100 firm in Philly and a regional mid law offer. Accepted offer at Wilmington firm and withdrew from all of the other firms before they made decisions.

I know at my school (non-Philly T2 on east coast), students generally did not do very well. Anyone outside of the top 10% was pretty much not getting screeners at OCI, but that is to be expected. Probably only 8-10 students got jobs at large firms, so I am very, very lucky.

I thought the transfer would negatively impact my chances , but I was very pleased with my results, especially in a competitive market. However, there were two experiences where interviewers made snide comments about not being able to get into HYS at first. For those transfers looking at this info for future uses, be sure to be as humble and kind as possible - it is your background and persona that is going to set yourself apart, your grades are going to be good for almost any firm.
