Well paul weiss pulled out of oci at many schools for 3l... So yeah maybe it will be a down year for 3l recruitingAnonymous User wrote:Any thoughts on the notion that, since summer classes at many, many firms have reached record-highs after the crisis, 3L hiring won't be as robust as, say...last summer?

Is there a place to look up how many 3L hires a given firm made in the past?

With many firms seemingly giving CBs early, does it make sense to MM now if I wouldn't be able to attend a CB until early September? Or would it be better to wait a few weeks, receive an offer from my SA firm, then MM?

I would send now, then update when you receive offer from your SA. Although I am currently having no success, it's more due to firms not hiring I think (have gotten about 70 dings already its quite sad, mailed like 400). Although I have an SA, i'm not like top 10% or anything so it could just be that, so dont let that amount discourage you lol. ppl are obviously having success already.

Anon from above.
I should clarify, I won't really be MM'ng, there are only a couple firms I would be interested in leaving my current firm for, I'm just concerned about mailing them then not being able to do a callback for a month and a half.

What is stopping you from CBing soon, if you don't mind me asking? If it's because you're mailing a different market, just say when you'll be in town. even if its a month from now, ifyou mail them closer to that time, there's more applications that have come in so there might be less demand. That would be my concern about that.

Re: 3L OCI
Not being available for a month and a half is a tough place to be when trying to get a job. When I interviewed last year for 3L jobs in NYC big firms mostly wanted to screen me almost immediately, or when they went to OCI at the latest. They then took like 2-4 weeks to get me in for an CB. Then like 1-3 weeks for a decision. It's a much more drawn out process than 2L OCI but last year, at least, firms seemed to want to screen me pretty quickly. I wouldn't want to have to tell them to cool their heels for 1.5 months.Anonymous User wrote:Anon from above.

Out of curiosity, when did you mail, and what level of firms did you get rejections from? (e.g., Rejections from firms not known for 3L hiring? Or V10s?)Anonymous User wrote:I would send now, then update when you receive offer from your SA. Totally understand that people are probably going to be unwilling to go into specifics, but ... is anyone willing to go into specifics about which firms have offered interviews/given rejections?
I can contribute that STB has said they won't be assessing 3L needs until late August.

I'm the very unlucky anon from above. I've emailed all over the spectrum. Basically for perspective, I'm ~top 15% at T20, LR, published, but im getting dinged/we're not hiring/apply online from firms towards the bottom.
I don't have the grades for STB so they just told me they were hiring sparingly, didn't say when they were assessing, so I'm not going to discredit that.
I was gonna think of a separate thread but this is what people have told me (again, with perspective of my stats, they could very well be telling magnificent applications different things)
Orrick - October 2015
Crowell - January 2016
Jenner - January 2016
Jones Day - few months
Bracewell - July/august 2016

No ties out there, so standard caveat that they could be telling others different things but
Wilson Sonsini SV - not hiring.
MoFo SF - will evaluate in October.

Would the HR not like it if I apply for multiple offices by sending my resumes to each recruiter at each office?

Does Williams and Connolly interview 3Ls who have a clerkship lined up for a pre-clerk summer? Tried searching the internet but not much recent came up.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
