If we're doing data points:

Jenner DC and Kirkland DC are NOT getting out in front of OCI. Neither office does CBs with massmail candidates until regular OCI time callbacks have started. Kirkland won't schedule any type of interview, but Jenner will do a screener over the phone.

Shame on you if you are somehow surprised that rising 2Ls have offers. Of course they have offers. Recruiting is well underway. Instead of sitting on your ass and waiting for OCI to start, send out mass mails and applications.

I got a Skadden NY offer. Had my interview in early July and an offer the following Monday.

SHOCKING. Mass mailing isn't like some backdoor where top firms let in median TT bros.

Depends on how far out you are to OCI. If it's next week, I wouldn't. But if you have some time then I would mail them, say you're going to be in town and would like to speak more about the position/interview, whatever you want to say. If it's a firm where you aren't in town, act like you're going to be there anyway, then just buy a flight after you hear back. The worst they can say if see you at OCI. The best would be an early callback.

Check your OCS policy for that. At NU it's not allowed until interviews are announced, probably the same at almost every other school.

You can't do OCI are any other OCS event. I guess this is assuming you also get caught.

Eta: I should "I think" before that answer. That's what i remember will happen but cannot look it up exactly right now. I will later if I remember.

Also there's a caveat that you can pass along your resume if someone at the firm requests it, or says something like "I can pass your information to the recruiting manager if you like."
