[You guys realize that this is one of the more subjective subjects around, that where you lie on the spectrum of social interaction depends entirely on your personality, and that there is no way to convince people with different personalities to see things your way, right? Right?]

That said, I can relate to OP. I summered both at biglaw and at a smaller boutique and people were open, friendly, and outgoing in both. The biglaw place obviously had a variety of personalities, but there were enough extroverts to make up for the rest. I was actually pleasantly surprised because I expected a far stuffier environment. Instead, the firm had a "work hard play hard" culture that suited my personality. Looking at some of the sentiments in this thread (tedious bore = professionalism??), I feel quite lucky about where I ended up.
