Yes. It wouldn't be unusual to get a call Wednesday afternoon during EIW from one of your morning interviewers, inviting you to set up a callback for the next Monday. You should expect to schedule callbacks any time from the week after EIW through the third or fourth week of classes. (For reference, I had one at 10am the Monday following EIW, then none until the second and third week of classes.)Swimp wrote:There's like a week and a half between EIW and classes starting. Is it common for callbacks to be scheduled during that downtime? I'm considering leaving town, but I won't plan to go far if I may need to alter my plans to attend a callback interview, obviously.
Fried was a conflict. I got them at 18. See bottom of page 1 for how the WL worksAnonymous User wrote:24 total.
Anyone know how waitlist/opt-in works?
Notable misses: Fried Frank at 12, Weil at 8
is Add/drop the same as open sign up?Anonymous User wrote:waitlist: basically, for all of the firms you did NOT get interviews with, you can either click "opt in" or leave it as "opt out." I believe that you get assigned interviews based on original bid position, so if I bid White and Case at 10 initially and you bid them 11, I get the interview before you. These interviews come from a pool of dropped interviews.Anonymous User wrote:I realize I'm getting a bit ahead of myself but does anyone know how exactly the add/drop interview signup works after we get our lists? I'm already regretting some decisions in my rankings.
Add/drop: it's a 10 minute free for all to pick any firm regardless of whether you bid them to begin with. There are a relatively good number of firms available, but they're often secondary market things and lesser bid NY firms (like non-V100 NY firms with class sizes under 5, and a number of Palo Alto firms). Another big issue is that you will often be conflicted out of interview slots. This might be a bit better this year because I think OCS did a better job of spreading out popular firms' interview days. Last year, it was common to have 11 interviews on each of the first two days, and only have 3-5 on the third day. I don't think it will be so lopsided this year.
yeah, I meant open sign up. I actually think most of the dropping is between now and 8/1Anonymous User wrote:is Add/drop the same as open sign up?Anonymous User wrote:waitlist: basically, for all of the firms you did NOT get interviews with, you can either click "opt in" or leave it as "opt out." I missed PW at 29, got Dechert at 21, got Schulte at 17Anonymous User wrote:Hit my 22 of first 23 bids with 24 total for NY and 26 total (including TX)
Anyone know when Spalding (missed at 19)/Paul Weiss (missed at 37) /Dechert (24) /Shute (missed 25) cleared?
I only hit 2 out of 10 Dallas mainly/some Houston firms at 41-50. Pretty surprising. Is TX (especially Dallas) that popular or was it scheduling conflicts?
If you got an offer from somewhere else pre-EIW, or if you have 30 interviews, you might drop some.Anonymous User wrote:

Stroock at 49, and I think they still didn't clear.Anonymous User wrote:23 total including the majority of my targets, and several I was not expecting to get where I ranked them (eg, Stroock at 36). Only whiffs I'm broken up about are Proskauer at 3 and Latham at 30. Other notable misses, Kirkland at 10 and Sidley at 13, don't shock me.
Overall, more or less the number and range I expected.

People lost Linklaters at 1 so don't feel too bad. Dechert must have been a a conflict because I got it at 25.Anonymous User wrote:Got King Spalding at 14, Schulte at 19. Most disappointing/surprising miss was Linklaters at 5.
