If any alums are trolling around, how early is "early enough" to be the 1st for a walk in? start waiting at 8....?

If I'm interviewing and the first one is at 9am, I'm not getting there before 8:45. If you're there (and are the first person outside the door because you got there at 8am), sure, I'll give you 5, maybe 10 minutes before the 9am slot. That said, as an alum, I know GW does pre-select and not lottery, so I'm already expecting your resume to be "worse" than the other 20 people I'm going to see that day. I know, it sucks, but I'm just saying what I'll be thinking; therefore, you better wow me to have a chance of a callback.

One other thing that's sort of the opposite of the above -- if you are an "alternate" with an interview slot, I will not know that. To me, you're just one of the 20 the recruiting department chose for me to interview and will be interviewed accordingly.

I was the first person at the door of his room, but two people had ambushed him at the literal entrance to the hotel. Another guy, as was I was talking to him, loudly interrupted and forced a resume in his face loudly proclaiming "I have one year litigation experience, are you interested?!??!?!".

Screw this.

Is it uncouth to email interviewers accepting walk in the night before? I really want two firms tomorrow, willing to gun hard.

Just had an interviewer ask me "Tell me about the legal issue in the portion of your writing sample you excerpted." He roasted me. What in the actual hell?
